Polka dots are cute, chambray is cute, so why not combine the two into a fun trend? I've been seeing this style everywhere lately and wanted to give it a try. Polka dot skinny jeans were my original goal (I tried on the Limited pair below and loved them) but ultimately I spotted this fun skirt in a lightweight chambray and simply couldn't resist. Are you a fan of this trend? What polka dot chambray items would you wear?

I love your blog and I've been following you for be over a year now. I think this might just be the cutest thing I've ever seen you wear! It looks like spring. Thank you for all you do!
ReplyDeleteJust bought the polka dot jeans and love them!! You have such great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting polka dot skinny jeans for awhile now too because I think they're the cutest! I am so in love with anything polka dotted.
ReplyDeleteThis is a trend that I've been loving.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing me some options!
Love this! That skirt is fab!!!

I really like polka dot denim, which I included in one of my recent posts. I'd wear the polka dot jeans and the dresses are very cute too!

I don't know why, but I was utterly captivated by this look. It's the breeziness of both the top and the skirt, I think. Or perhaps the hue of chambray? Regardless, with your skin tone and hair color, it just pops! Love. Quick question: is the chambray stiff or soft? I always have a problem with the chambray things I purchase sticking away form my body. >.<

I'm a fan. Your skirt is such a versatile way to wear this trend. I like how you paired it with the white top and belt. Adds a freshness to the outfit.
ReplyDeleteOkay, there is a reason that belt was $5..it's ugly.
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt! Much better than the jeans! Just be careful. From the side in these photos you can slightly see where you shirt ends when it's tucked in. But it's really cute!
ReplyDeleteI love my polka dotted chambray shirt, but I have a hard time styling my polka dotted jeans. They are from Old Navy and a bit too tight for my comfort...any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteKinda crazy in love with this outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa!! I couldn't see what you were talking about so I zoomed in using iPhoto and it looks like there is a slight shadow in the side pic. I think that is the tag on the skirt though? Not positive but it is definitely not my shirt!
ReplyDeleteKathrin, with too tight jeans I would probably sell/donate them and find another pair that you feel more comfy in. You also could try a tunic, that covers everything all the way to your thighs. A long, loose white collared shirt would do the trick!
ReplyDeleteWith all the *lovely, feminine details* of this outfit----(i.e., the pleated jewel-neck and the slightly-puffed cap sleeves of your blouse............ your two dainty necklaces............ your short, slightly-gathered, polka dot skirt............ and the sweet bow appliques of your very ladylike peep-toe heels)----your plain white stretch belt helps to balance some of the "girlie" vibe. I really now like how many of the (on-trend) pleated, gathered, or circle skirts----both short and maxi----have *wide*, uncovered, (sewn-on elastic) stretch waistbands, i.e., it just seems to help make a pleated/gathered/circle skirt............ a little bit swingier and sassier for walking and/or dancing!! A very plain-and-simple *wide* stretch BELT, (e.g., like the one you're wearing)............ is then maybe The Next-Best-Thing............ TO a *wide*, uncovered, (sewn-on elastic) stretch WAISTBAND!
ReplyDeleteThis chambray-blue and white outfit is simple; yet it's just so darn *pretty*: I think you probably could be the poster model, J., for............ "How To Wear Polka Dots In Spring"!!
I think this outfit would look alot better if the skirt was a little longer. But maybe I'm biased because my 8 year old little sister owes very similar skirt.
ReplyDeleteI have a polka-dot chambray top from Cato which I absolutely love. It's cute & versatile. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with your skirt! Where is Francesca's? No website?
ReplyDeleteI just bought a chambray polka dot button down and I LOVE it!
Here is a link to their website. I couldn't find this particular skirt online! http://www.francescas.com/
