Emerald was just named the color of the year (no really, it was). I personally plan to celebrate all year long, and decided to kick things off with an emerald + mustard + turquoise + leopard combo I spotted on Pinterest and have been meaning to try ever since. What's your favorite way to wear emerald?

I absolutely love emerald! It looks great with tan color and leopard!

I love green, so I was pretty excited when I saw emerald was the color of the year. I like your color combo, epsecially with the leopard added in. I like wearing black and leopard or white with green. Kind of boring, but it just looks pulled together. Heather
ReplyDeleteSince I can't find cheaper emerald skinnies in long, I'm wearing emerald on top. Gem tones go great with my skin tone, so the more emerald the better.
ReplyDeleteI'm eagerly awaiting this top that I ordered from Forever21:

I'm thinking the fit will be very hit or miss, but it might look good tucked in for work. And then of course I couldn't pass on ordering it in the royal blue color (obsessed with that color!!!). So I'm hoping they fit well.
love this look on you! and so excited about Emerald being color of the year -- I just invested in an emerald lace dress that I can't wait to wear! xo

Not a color combination I would have picked, but it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought about that color combo with the animal print, but it looks awesome. Totally stealing. :)
ReplyDeleteso cute!

I like your outfit but I am not a fan of green. So color of the year or not, I am not running out to buy anything green. Maybe a good excuse to buy a pair of shoes though.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that inspiration photo! I'm also wearing new emerald green cafe capris from J.Crew today ;)

Love those pants - I had a pair of green skinnies in my hand a couple of weeks ago and I'm kicking myself for not buying them!
ReplyDeleteAre skinnies the only cut of jeans that are in? I don't own any and don't think they look well for my body shape and age.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. My favorite way of wearing emerald is in a cardigan. I haven't braved the whole green pant thing yet. You look fabulous.

I love the leopard with it! I'm going to have to try that for sure!
ReplyDeleteI have already invested in new pieces in emerald - a dress, silk shirt, and cardigan. I can't wait to start mixing and matching with items I already have. I was thinking about wearing the dress with my leopard pumps and now that I see how it looks with your jeans, I'm sold on the combo. Thanks again for helping me with outfit ideas.
ReplyDeleteI can't wear skinney jeans, but did find some colors in straight leg (brick red and black) they look just as nice. This blog even got me inspired to buy a camel blazer and bubble necklaces. I have been branching out with my outfits. I can pull some of them off even at my age. (48)
ReplyDeleteNo, go to JcPenney they have some straight leg styles in colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great outfit for an class (would do a kitten heel OR flat to get around campus)! xo, your friends at College Lifestyles! http://collegelifestyles.org
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not! I think every cut is in style right now - flare, bootcut, straight, skinny - you name it. For a similar look as skinny but more forgiving try something in a straight fit. If that's still too slim then I suggest bootcut!
ReplyDeleteThose pants are perfect! I love the way it looks with the leopard.
ReplyDeleteyou just literally brightened up my day!

ReplyDeletewhere do you find the Banana Republic leopard heels for $60? They are $110. Just curious...
ReplyDeleteI bought them in the store last December (2011). No coupon or promo, they were on sale!
ReplyDeleteI love emerald... I just think it can lean kid-like very easily!! I think I'll stick to emerald colored jewelry, personally :)

I was super excited when I saw that announcement. Emerald is so pretty and I'm even more thrilled that I already own jeans in that color. I'm waiting for them to come out with deep emerald tops and dresses - those always give off such an elegant vibe!

Also loving emerald with hot pink, navy, mustard, navy blue - the list goes on and on. It can really be the grounding color for all the bright things we've been buying in the past year.
ReplyDeleteWoops - meant to post as Jeanne at http://twotakeonstyle.com
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything in this color!! (Well, maybe an old sweater!) So I must go shopping... haha... I would love it with a classic black and white combo or rusty gold!!

I want a pair of emerald pants!!! It's my favorite color, it's a wonder I don't own anything in it!
ReplyDelete'Love emerald green!! It's (as noted in the link you provided)............ *renewing*; *regenerative*; and *rejuvenating*............ (exactly what I N.E.E.D. this year, too, haha)!! I really like your color pairings in today's outfit............ i.e., the pretty outfit you've decided to kick your Year Of Green off with, J.!!

This is how bad I am. :)
ReplyDeleteI could not remember what last years "color of the year" was. Do any of you remember it? It was Tangerine. Here's a link to past colors. You will need to scroll down a bit to see the colors they chose. i just found it interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantone
I want green pants!! Love it with the leopard--I paired those two just the other day! :)
ReplyDeleteAn emerald dress is always gorgeous! It's really easy to make it more sophisticated with a really dark shade or to make it more dressy with adding sequins to a dress that is a brighter emerald.

closet packer fan! love it!
ReplyDeleteawesome i'm gonna have to check that out! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI saw very similar ones at Payless yesterday- they were the Christian Siriano brand. Quality seemed good, not regular cheapie Payless. I think they were $35.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited that Emerald has been named the color of 2013. It's my favorite color! I've been hesitant to try colored jeans because I think I would tend to pair them with either white or black.
ReplyDeleteI've never been more pleased with the color of the year! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have only started to wear green in the last 6 months... just emerald/kelly green and I love it! Not sure why I waited!!! My favorite combo is kelly green, navy, and grey!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color! Looks great! :)

ReplyDeleteLove your outfit....any shade of green is my favorite so I will be on trend in 2013!!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the fact that emerald is the color of the year! It goes with my complexion and it's just gorgeous :) Love how your interpreted this look -- bright colors are so pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was at Target earlier this week I saw leopard heels! They looked cute and are more affordable.
