Today's Everyday Fashion: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating with your friends and family today! I will likely wear this outfit for Black Friday shopping tomorrow (follow me on Twitter for the scoop on deals @jseverydayfash). I've had this top for a few weeks and have been puzzled how to wear it without looking like Where's Waldo. Mixing stripes in a similar color scheme did the trick, and in general I like this idea (striped top + striped cardigan) for all kinds of stripe mixing! Are you Black Friday shopping tomorrow? Would you wear mixed stripes?

Sweater: Gap, old
Shirt: c/o Francesca's Collections, $28 (similar)
Jeans: Vigoss c/o Nordstrom Rack, $35 (similar)
Boots: c/o Chinese Laundry, $150
Purse: Karen Millen, $235 (similar, vegan)
Necklace: Banana Republic, old
Rings: My Stella & Dot website $39 and $69 and $39

One of the many, many things I'm thankful for today - last week I won the Swisspers Sleep Naked contest!! I was up against some pretty stiff competition (a RHONJ!), and the prize is $10,000 for my charity, To Write Love on Her Arms! I can't thank you enough for voting for my "naked" picture (no makeup) and helping TWOLHA win. Thanks so much for your support! xoxo, J.

  4. I got called Where's Waldo once. Not being born in the US, I had to go look up what they were talking about. I can see why that comparison isn't appealing ;)

  9. Love this casual outfit. You can't go wrong with stripes. NO black friday shopping for this girl. In Canada the best deals are in December and in January. Happy Thanksgiving.

  14. I love how you mixed a LIGHTER shade of orange, (i.e., on your striped top), with a DARKER shade of orange (i.e., on your striped cardigan sweater)!!    Also, since the "backgrounds" for both pieces are NEUTRAL colors............ (i.e., white for your striped top;  and a heathered taupe-brown for your striped cardigan sweater)............ that makes your stripe-mixing even more wearable and *pretty*!!    (I also love your striped top + striped cardigan idea using ALL neutrals, too, e.g., as in your January 8th, 2012, post with deep-navy-blue-on-a-white-background stripes!!:  http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/01/todays-everyday-fashion-fun-with.html#.UK5hhPkYBYg.email

And your winning $10,000 for your non-profit charity To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA)............ (i.e., particularly in these hard economic times with bare-bones budgets!!)............ is simply  *w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l.*!!    The many, MANY~~(primarily young, but older, too)~~people who are struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide are, I'm sure, also *Very Thankful For You Today*, J. ............ (as all your Readers here are, too, on this Thanksgiving Day!!)............ for helping the genuinely *LIFE*-saving work of TWLOHA............ to continue.    **Happy Thanksgiving**!!

  18. Question: how do you keep your jeans from feeling all bunchy in yoir boots? Ive worn mine that way like twice and the feeling around my ankles.is really uncomfortable after a few hours. Is socks the answer?

  19. I love the way you mixed stripes! I've tried doing this countles times, but something was off. I think I'll try to mix top with darker cardi, the way you did.
