Today's Everyday Fashion: Daniel Wellington

This outfit contains a whole bunch of my favorite things: mixing black and brown, tweed jackets, and chambray shirts. Add to that my new favorite watch and you have a deal. I've been wearing my current watch daily for just under two years. When Daniel Wellington offered to let me try a watch of my choice, I was excited to switch up my routine, but I was also blown away at how much I loved their designs! The face on this one has a large circumference very close in size to my old watch, but it's thin and the cognac strap gives it an uber-preppy look that I'm swooning over. I'm not throwing out my old watch just yet, but I'm excited to have a new option for outfits like today's. What is your watch style?

  2. I don't wear watches because my wrists are super tiny and I can never find one that fits. It's not just the band but the faces are usually gigantic on my arm and look really awkward.

  3. Love the belted blazer.  You look a little bit like you should be hanging out in the beautiful countryside riding horses :)  Very nice outfit.

  4. I'm on the prowl for a perfect tweed blazer (your fault, BTW) and I love that you always leave links to get me started ;) Thanks for fueling my addiction! :)

  7.  Fossil, Swatch, DKNY and probably many other brands have, among other types,  watches with really small faces and bands can be easily adjusted by removing as much links as needed... just a thought, I really love nice watch even more than piece of jewelry...

  9. I need to get better at mixing black and brown. the main reason I like it so much is because people say you "cant" mix them!

  15. I usually get my watches from Macy's, but go the route of the $30 boxed watches (and get links removed because I, too, have a small wrist). The last one I got has a two-tone band (imitation gold + white ceramic) and I loved the look of it before I knew it was actually "in" right now. I can't tell you how many compliments I have gotten on this $30 watch! Both from people I know, and from random people like the UPS guy or one of the food sample vendors at Costco who literally called out, "whoa! nice watch! Michael Kors?" as I walked past. FYI, the brand is Style & Co and the watches/batteries seem to hold up pretty well for a year or two, which is about the time I'm ready for something new anyway. :)

  16.  A bangle-style watch might also look nice :)

  17. Overstock is the best way to find watches for a great price.  I have three Michael Kors watches and got them all on Overstock for well below what Macy's was selling them for.

Also, love this tweed look!  I did a copycat look with my tweed blazer on today's blogpost: http://youngfashionablewife.com/2012/10/26/copycat-friday-tweed-blazer/

  18. I'm not gonna lie, that watch is super fab. It's just so pricey. Lately (and by that I mean the past several months) I've been a fan of that kind. Leather strap, big face, but thin metal outer piece. My pinterest accessories board will show you that. But a couple weeks ago I finally settled on a black leather and gold Georgia Fossil watch I'd had my eye on for some time too. I like the leather look! :-)

  19. Would definitely wear this outfit. I am totally in to big watches. I have the Michael Kors watch in gold and love it. Wear it daily. I also have white Guess one that I also love. I love big faces on watches.

  21. Hi J,

I am a big watch fan. Love your new watch. Congratulations on the find !!
I always used to wonder what other watch would look good since you are so versatile with your outfits. But I must say your last watch was a design that blended well with everything you wear.
I so wish I find something like that :)

  22. I like the watch, it is a simplistic design.  You are rocking that tweed blazer I like how you added that belt over the jacket and mixed chambray too! Great look!

    Thanks!

  30. I love those watches and have been swooning over them all over the blogs! I gravitate towards large round faces. My newest, and probably favorite, watch is the Kate Spade Metro with the confetti face. I love it so hard.

  31. I LOVE mixing black and brown! When done right it's such a good way to add an unexpected touch to an outfit (esp work-related or date outfits).

Re: watches, I wore sport watch every day forever (except for very formal situations) and had a wicked watch tan... finally broke my watch addiction on a trip to Greece when mine broke. It's kind of freeing, actually.

  32. Love this look! I wear a digital watch for work but I'd love to try out a more formal style.

  33. I absolutely love this! Thinking I need a chambray shirt!

  34. I think you put the outfit together really well.  It looks much better on you than the model.  I'm thinking that a nice tailored fit is essential to pulling it off.  And your black pants are way classier than the too-short black skirt on the model.

I don't like wearing watches for whatever reason.  They just have never been my thing.  I have a friend who has been wearing some with long leather bands which wrap around the wrist a few times though and they look very nice with most outfits.

  35. Love this outfit, J!  You certainly nailed it.  Love the belt over the jacket, and the boots.  You look great.

  36. Thanks Amber! So sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I have over 1,000 unread emails, so needless to say I'm overwhelmed in that department. I need to update the Hire Me section of my website - I've got about 50 people on a waiting list right now and I'm taking a bit of a hiatus, but I hope to be able to help eventually! Thanks for emailing!

  37. Hey there, no problem at all. Your blog has inspired me to get out there and do some shopping on my own.  I have added some of your outfits to my pinterest account so I can acces it while I am out!  Take care and add me to the list.  Thanks!
