I saved this photo because of her shoes! I love them, and I'm on the look out for unique ways to style my off-white python t-straps. Turns out that those shoes were not so hot with this outfit, so I wound up with this Nicholas Kirkwood inspired pair instead. I have a thing for tuxedo blazers (see how else I wore mine here and here) and I like the idea of wearing it with red corduroys for a bit of a early-holiday feel. Would you wear a tuxedo blazer?

Hi J! I love your look! The red pants are a good surprise in the outfit! I have seen this amazing snake skin pair of shoes, but I'm not sure if I should buy it since it has round toes! Are they still in?
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear this whole look! I have been stalking the Rock & Republic cobalt & black tuxedo blazer at Kohl's. Waiting for it to go on super sale! That will definitely be my next purchase. Heather
ReplyDeletelove that jacket! you look amazing in those red pants!

Love this!! I have been wondering about how to wear my tuxedo blazer (it is more of a cream than white but I totally think it would work with this same concept!
ReplyDeleteI bought one over a year ago and haven't worn it yet. Keep the ideas coming.
ReplyDeleteyou and your inspiration look fab! loving the jacket with the red pants.

I could not believe your fab shoes (even though they're not the python, I still love) are only $25... to die for! Love this look. XO

Thanks Gizelle! Round toes are definitely still in, especially ones with a smaller platform. Pointy toe is also in style though! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love tuxedo blazers. I don't have one, but if I did, I'd de invest in a classic black/white combo. But that cobalt/black is pretty too.

I personally couldn't pull one off (it doesn't look right on big busts) but I like them on some girls :)

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit to :)
Love your outfit! Your inspiration photo is Rebecca Minkoff - one of my favorite bag designers!
ReplyDeleteI like your outfit with the statement necklace. Personally, I am not a big fan of tuxedo blazers - I am not sure I know how to make it more work appropriate and not too holiday looking.

This is such a classic look! Love the red pants!
ReplyDeleteI just love your Gold & Zebra Print Enamel Kalahari Bangle Bracelet, (i.e., the third Stella & Dot bracelet listed, Above)!! In the online video, Blythe Harris~~Stella & Dot's Chief Creative Officer~~says, "I LOVE our (Fall 2012 Line) Kalahari Bangle because black-and-white is just SUCH a beautiful, strong statement: I would wear this with a black-and-white print, i.e., I think this would be SO chic!!"
ReplyDeleteAlthough I know you've worn your black-and-white Kalahari Bangle before, it not only looks p.a.r.t.i.c.u.l.a.r.l.y. nice with your Dalmatian-print dress~~(in your 9/17/12 post)~~which you wore while sightseeing in NYC; but your Kalahari Bangle really "stands out" here............ as a gorgeous piece of Jewelry *A.r.t.*............ i.e., even moreso UP AGAINST "the spare starkness" of your tuxedo blazer; black shirt; and orange-red corduroy pants!! 'Just SUPER-chic outfit styling, J.!!
Thanks so much J!
ReplyDeleteI own that blazer! I'm always looking for new ways to work it. I tried it with red once too!

I love this outfit! I love blazers on other people, but am a little gun-shy about wearing one myself. I think it's because I'm a child of the 80s - I think "blazer," which leads me to think of shoulder pads and outfits gone horribly wrong! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am slowly embracing my cinnamon tuxedo blazer, and one of the ways I have worn it is this way: http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/09/fall-suiting-cool-colours.html, which I credited a past post of yours. I really like these black and white options.
