Today's Everyday Fashion: Fun with Stripes
I can't get enough stripes lately. I love them paired in unique combos with other stripes, polka dots, and even prints like leopard. They are a current trend, but have been around for ages. Is there anything they don't look good with?! I gave my striped shirt a spin with a couple new print combos I haven't done before. Which one is your favorite? What's a unique way you like to wear stripes?

Nice looks! Funny that I wore the exact same outfit as your second one a few days back!
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes! I wanted to say I found your blog a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE how you take a look and create your own outfits inspired by them. I'm looking forward to 2012 posts :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the double stripe look! I would have never thought to put two different stripes together like that.
ReplyDeleteI wear stripes with every pattern! I wore my favorite b&w shirt with leopard print flats and it's become one of my favorite outfits.

Stripes ARE great. They are becoming more a neutral for me. I especially like your leopard and stripes look.. it might be my Monday outfit!
ReplyDeleteJ- I have a question that is completely unrelated to your outfit. How do you keep track of what each item you are wearing costs?
ReplyDeleteGotta luv the leopard combo!
ReplyDeleteI can never get my fill of stripes either!x
ReplyDeleteCan you please come to Nor Cal and help me get about 20 outfits together!!!!
ReplyDeletei have an outfit planned for next week with a striped top and leopard shoes!
ReplyDeleteBefore I saw your post today I would have thought the only thing you couldn't pair with leopard was stripes. Thanks for proving me wrong! And I really love the patches on your striped cardi. Thanks for posting two awesome looks for a SAH mom of three, I could totally wear those for everyday!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, love me some stripes! They are such a closet staple!

LOVE the leopard and stripes! NEVER would've thought if this combo!!
ReplyDeleteI'm styling stripes and leopard today too! It's just such a fun mix. Stripes on stripes will definitely have to be next on my list.
ReplyDeletei'm loving your blog. it's so fashionably inspirational. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cindy! Glad you like today's post! :-)
ReplyDeleteHopping on a plane, I'm on my way lol! :-)
ReplyDeleteMeg, all prices are approximate, and I have a great memory, but if I can't remember I just go back and look at old posts to check the prices!
ReplyDeleteI *love* all of these (navy blue) stripes; and honestly like both of your outfits EQUALLY well!! I might be inclined to wear the striped shirt and leopard-print cardigan on a cooler and/or rainy day............ whereas, I'd maybe wear the striped shirt and striped cardigan~(with those great brown elbow patches!!)~on a warmer and/or sunny day. Using your RED Melie Bianco purse to "pick up" the RED in your London street fair patch (on your striped cardigan) is so stylish, too!!
ReplyDeleteIn the Wintertime when it's really cold and *windy* outside, I'll often wear a long, red-and-white striped, knit scarf on my head----(i.e., to keep the wind out of my ears; otherwise, I get truly-excruciating earaches). The scarf is vertically-striped in a rather unique color-block fashion, i.e., with each alternating "stripe" being............ 5 inches wide, (across the whole length of the scarf)!! When I wear the scarf, people always *smile*; and comment how much they like it's bright, bold, and *H.A.P.P.Y.* red-and-white stripes!! So, I've come to associate "stripes" with "happiness" now!!
I like the second one with the big stripes and the little stripes. Love the inspiration. I'm starting to think I could have some more style!
ReplyDeleteHi J, I like your post about stripes! I have a blog dedicated to my love for stripes, called A Thing For Stripes (http://athingforstripes.blogspot.com/). and I recently posted about animal print too! I also live in Florida (Miami) and would love to collaborate if you are ever visiting :)
