Today's Everyday Fashion: The Sequin Jacket

Last night I had a little impromptu dinner with the girls and this is what I wore! The sequin jacket came in the mail yesterday afternoon and it was love at first sight. It's slightly sweet (reminds me of Chanel tweed jackets with the frayed edges) and slightly rock-n-roll. I'm looking forward to finding more ways to wear it, but I went for a mini skirt and a simple silk shirt last night since it was so warm. Hair went half-up in an attempt to conceal my roots (I'm overdue for a touch-up) and away I went! It was a fun night.

  4. I love the jacket as well. I purchased a similar one in black at Kensie Outlet at the outlet mall in Aurora IL after Thanksgiving. I am waiting for a chance to wear it soon! I can picture your jacket casual or dressy like you styled it. You look great. Thanks for all the great outfit ideas.

  5. Thanks Elizabeth! I've never dyed the bottom half of my hair so that's my natural color you are seeing. I love it too, I'm just always perplexed at how in the world to grow out highlights when my hair is this long! Maybe someday I'll figure it out. ;-)

  6. Great outfit!! I love this jacket - I am always amazed how you find really cute things on MJR sales. Can I ask why size you ordered in the jacket? I am debating between a small and medium.

  10. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! That helps a lot - I am usually a 2/4 in blazers, so I went with the small.

  15. Your post is perfect timing! I just purchased a Kenneth Cole dark grey/black sequin jacket on Friday, almost identical to this one (shorter style with an open front) at an unbelievable deal (originally $150, but I got it for $24 at Ross). I have been trying to figure out what to wear it with and I really like your idea with a gray top and black bottom. I want to wear it for Christmas and New Year's and I think your idea here will be perfect! Thanks again for your inspiration!!!

  22. Your new Sequin Jacket is just *stunning*, J;  and so, so pretty on you!!    I noticed on the MJR Sales website that this genuinely classic, elegant jacket has "an asymmetrical zip front closure, and a single snap button at the collar";  so----(in the photo of the zipped-up jacket, Above;  and further-enlarged on the MJR Sales website)----it then almost looks AS IF there's a *small space*............ i.e., between the zipper-pull itself and the snap-button at the collar............ which might be (at least a little bit) "Open." (?)

Anyway, I really love how you~~very a.r.t.f.u.l.l.y.~~wore your jacket, i.e., with the asymmetrical front *draped open*!!    I wonder----(among your readers who either already have, or plan to purchase, this Sequin Jacket;  AND who also might wear it, at some point, with the front *zipped up*)----whether or not some of them might also get a "Fashion Urge"----(like occasional Head-Up-In-The-Clouds Me, haha!!)----just to tuck some type of pretty accessory............ (and I'd have *Absolutely No Idea What*, though!!)............ INTO that *small space*............ i.e., perhaps to "Color-Complement," OR maybe even to "Color-Contrast with," their own Sequin Jacket outfit(s)??!!    *S.*P.*A.*R.*K.*L.*E.*   ~   *O.*N.*, J!!
