Today's Everyday Fashion: Everything is All-White

Whenever I think of "holiday"style, white is the last thing that comes to mind. That's partly why I love today's look so much. It's unique and would definitely stand out at a holiday party and yet it still looks very "holiday" with the lace, fur and black details. My only complaint about this outfit? It kind of reminds me of Colonel Sanders a little bit... which made me laugh out loud. But I still love this outfit and would wear it in a heartbeat. Just call me "Colonel J." ;-) Would you wear a winter white look during the holidays?

  1. Yes, absolutely!  Not sure if I would do the fur collar though. I think the lace top and white pants would look great all on their own.  Add tons of silver blingy jewelry and you are all set for a holiday party :)  Heather

  2. I had the same thought when I was putting this outfit together - why not just add a black necklace in place of the fur? I like the fur for two reasons though: 1. it's different. everyone is wearing statement necklaces, but fur is a unique spin. 2. the fur does the same thing for you that shoulder pads will - it adds some volume to the outfit that can do wonders for your figure. Without the fur, this outfit is VERY boxy on me, this shirt has no shape whatsoever, but I look more balanced b/c of the fur up top. :-)

  4. The photo from Victoria's Secret is weird.  She looks deformed and maybe malnourished.  Can always count on Vic S for self esteem boosting photos. :)  Just my two cents.
Your colonel sanders comment made me laugh too!

  5. I agree - I'm pretty sure that photo is Photo Shopped. :-)

  6. Not sure how I feel about all white. Partly because I can always count on spilling something on myself (especially at holiday parties when my coworkers are inevitably there!), and I don't think I would trust myself in this outfit!  I like the top though.

  7. Love the lace top!  This look is beautiful!  I need to find a pair of white pants that don't drag on the floor!

  9. I've always liked winter white for holiday outfits!  It's a nice alternative to the traditional red, green, and sequins. The fur scarf is a creative touch!

  10. It looks photoshopped, but it's really not. Candice Swanepoel really does have a teeny tiny waist that look disproportionate to her hips. Crazy, right?

  11. I really like the shirt. Lace is one of my favorite love affairs. I think the shirt would look lovely tucked into a white pencil skirt and accessorized with red heels, a jeweled clutch, and a silver statement necklace. Not really a big fan of the fur scarf. I think it only works in the inspiration photo because the fur stole is so luxurious and that grey/white color is lovely.

  12. I like the all white look for the holidays.  The fur stole is cute, but a little too tutorial for everyday.  I want to say that I think it is fab, but maybe it works best with a dress, maybe in red?  But the all white is amazing and I just may wear all white for Christmas this year now!

  13. I wore this shirt with a white pencil skirt in May to copy an Olivia Palermo look, you can see it here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=208870542472023&set=a.163483153677429.45093.120030604689351&type=3&theater

  14. This look is cute, but I don't know if I could pull off all Winter white!

  15. I would wear all white, but I think I like it with more white on the arms.  The lace kind of breaks it up a little.  You look awesome as usual though.

  16. I just *l.o.v.e.* your gorgeous, golden-brown-and-ivory faux fur scarf, J............ (and very peacefully/kindly/gently, I'm so, *SO*-NOT a radical person at all:  my husband and I even do some local Volunteer Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation)............ so I just have to comment that I'm genuinely grateful that The Limited uses only *faux* fur products in THEIR Clothing Collections and pieces, i.e., instead of doing as Bergdorf Goodman does, (in the Above photo on the left), with their............ "Elie Tahari

Kelly Fur Scarf ~ White vat-dyed blue fox (Finland) with black grosgrain ribbon ties:  $698.00."

On your Facebook page and in your blog, whenever you simply refer to your fur collar (H&M, $15) as "faux"............ or to your fur shrug (Limited, $25) as "faux," too............ well, it's really sending an important "Treat All Animals With Respect" M.e.s.s.a.g.e. TO both younger and older girls/women............ i.e., to keep buying ONLY "faux" fur, you know.    I admire you *g.r.e.a.t.l.y.*, not only for your (rockin'!!) Fashionista Style, but also for............ your genuinely being a "good example," too, about this issue, which is important to me and to many, MANY others nowadays.

(By the way, if my little comment here is "too controversial," I understand completely;  so don't you worry, not *one*-little-bit, if you might have to delete it either, i.e., my feelings won't be hurt, at all.    I just ethically felt that I SHOULD comment about how you always, very responsibly, buy "faux" fur;  and also how you always use the word "faux" with the word "fur," too, you know.    *T.h.a.n.k. Y.o.u.* so much, J!!)

  17. I am so going to do this! I have a faux fur color from a jacket that I never ever wear. i am going to sew a ribbon on it and make one just like yours! You inspired me!

  18. Love it Jodie! I have two faux fur collars, you will be seeing both pretty often this winter. This one came with the ribbon but I usually wear it around my shoulders with the ribbon down the back. The other is just a loose collar and I like to safety pin it to jackets and sweaters, or around my neck like I did in this look last week: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/12/todays-everyday-fashion-how-now-brown.html

  19. Rosanna, I don't mind you posting your opinion on fur here one bit! All opinions are welcome here as long as people are polite and put it as sweetly as you did. :-)
