Today's Everyday Fashion: TGIF
I'm so excited it's Friday!! I've had a tough week (a bad cold had me bedridden for most of it), and I have friends coming into town today, so I'm looking forward to hitting up Disney with them and taking some time off! (woo hoo!) I'll be sharing some of the outfits I wear over the weekend, but in the meantime I thought I would share a Casual Friday work look. I only have one qualm about this outfit - if you take off the coat and put down the purse, it's pretty plain. So maybe this outfit is better suited for lunch or a day of shopping so you can leave the coat on? :-) Where would you wear this outfit? What are your weekend plans?

Love the jacket since it's leopard. Although the outfit may be plain without the jacket, sometimes simple just works. Have a fun at Disney :)
ReplyDeleteTo answer both of your questions at once: I would wear this outfit exactly for my this-weekends-plans which are going to one of my favourite places in town, it is a cafe-restaurant on the river (draft, we have a lot of them, Belgrade is actually famous for it's many drafts on two rivers, and it's nightlife on them...) and the plan is to go there for pizza and drinks, in the daytime (around noon) so if the forecast is accurate it will be chilly but sunny so you could survive sitting outside (on the river, in the sun, wonderful view...) but with your COAT ON! :) So whatever I wear my coat/jacket should be planed to stay on so I might as well put emphasis on it... so outfit like yours is perfect for occasion like this :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love me a leopard coat! :)

I like the coat, but combined with the bag it's just too much. Separately i love the both, but not in this combo.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit! I would have been scared to combine the two prints, but with the different hues I think it looks great! Tonight I'm going to a Stella & Dot party at a girlfriend's house - I've already got my eye on some of the necklaces you've shared on the blog!
ReplyDeleteI like the inspiration outfit. I don't care for combining the two prints nor would I ever wear a sheer blouse to work unless I planned to keep the coat on all day.
ReplyDeleteCute. I would wear this to sushi with the girls after work. Cute and can trasnition to a stop at a bar after sushi.
ReplyDeleteI forgot at add- a colorful pair of pumps may help with the "plain" feeling you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI am not recommending this outfit for work. It was listed as an option, but as always, you should check your own work dress codes before leaving the house. In general, it's extremely difficult to make any overall "rules" for work attire because dress codes vary so widely. That said, I personally think sheer is fine for many work places as long as you are properly covered up underneath! (As in, if you removed the sheer, you could wear what's underneath by itself.)
ReplyDeleteIt is simple, but I love it! I agree with your comment about the sheer as well, it's what you have going on underneath the sheer that could make it inappropriate for work.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the grey suede pumps??! What is "Vanity"? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've been sick! I've had a nasty cold, which turned into a sinus infection, for the last 2 weeks. I'm beyond exhausted! My baby and hubby are sick, as well. :( Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no Mary, I'm so sorry! I've had a sinus infection before, and there is absolutely nothing worse. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteRenee, I ordered them online (http://www.evanity.com/) - Vanity is a teenage store kind of like Wet Seal. I love these pumps though, they are kind of herringbone material. I got them more than a year ago, when I first started blogging!
ReplyDeleteI have this coat and absolutely love it! I got it with a BR friends and family discount... Looks great with a black sweater and jeans for running errands :)
ReplyDeleteEeekk! All this leopard is driving me nuts :D you found my weakness!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, this trench is fab!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear this outfit. Did you try adding some pops of color?

Are these the legging jeans from Gap? I can never figure out which style is which! Can you do a skinny/legging/real straight blog? LOL. The vast amount of jean styles are mind boggling to me, as dumb as that sounds!
ReplyDeleteThey are legging jeans and I got them last year. I would call them legging jeans simply because of how stretchy they are (very stretchy). I love your idea though and will consider doing a denim post, thank you for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you're feeling better!! I was out all week with the same thing!! Have a blast at Disney and enjoy some time off - you deserve it!!! :)

Love it! For a work outfit, I'd choose an animal print cardigan in place of the trench, just to ease the plain feeling. Really love it! have fun!
ReplyDeleteSorry. Didn't realize dissenting comments weren't allowed. Won't happen again.
ReplyDeleteDissenting? I wouldn't call your comment dissenting at all, nor is it "not allowed." I love having conversations with you guys about what to wear for real life - which is why I responded to you! ;-) This blog is a place to discuss what to wear, where to wear it, and what's acceptable for different scenarios. As always, your opinions on what you would wear are totally welcome!
ReplyDeleteI am way jealous that you received that BR trench as a promotional item. I have been hoping to happen upon some of the MadMen collection on sale eventually, and that was one of the items I really liked.
