Today's Everyday Fashion: The Red Blazer
I have a funny relationship with the color red. A couple years ago, I wouldn't be caught dead in it. Now, I can't get enough of it! So it feels really funny to call my new red blazer a "staple" but it I think I will be wearing it often this fall/winter! I've had it on my shopping to-do list for quite some time, so I was definitely happy to when I stumbled up on this one for such a great price at MJR Sales. (The same blazer is for sale on Victoria's Secret.com right now for almost triple the price! I'm guessing someone returned it and that's how it wound up on MJR Sales.) Are you digging red this fall/winter? Will you be rocking a red blazer?

I definitely like the Blazer better than the cardigan in the inspiration photo. I may just have to get a Red Blazer this year!!! I work as a manager in restaurant. I am limited to dark pants and ugly slip resistant shoes so I use your blog for ideas to help make my outfits a little more vibrant. Thanks J!
ReplyDeleteI have been on the hunt for a red blazer since the summer. It's such a nice alternative to the black blazer for a fun pop of color in your wardrobe. I think this is the first time I have seen you wear wide legged trousers. I like them! Heather

I actually hate the inpsiration photo, but love your outfit. I love how you used more feminine pieces to make it look more wearable. Looks great!

Red is such a versatile color - it goes perfect with lighter-colored pants like beige, but against black, it looks fierce. I personally love the jacket on you - and for that price... you can't go wrong!

Thank you for this. I was super excited to score a red blazer at Marshalls earlier this fall. but then I had trouble pairing it with anything! Everything i tried seemed to make me look too nautical or too manly or worse, like I was wearing a uniform!
ReplyDeletenever wore red ever until last year when i received a red sweater as a Christmas gift
ReplyDeletei got so many compliments on how it made my coloring look, i decided red might be a color to stop avoiding

I love the bold colors and the stripey pants - what a fun combo!!
ReplyDeleteRed has always been one of my favorite colors, and I think it looks good on everyone!
ReplyDeleteI feel like a red blazer can definitely be hard to style, which is why I'll be using some inspiration photos to jump start some ideas! Excited to wear it for casual occasions, too.
ReplyDeleteNav, I've written several posts about how much I despise work pants. :-) They are not my favorite, but I do try to throw them in here and there for those of you who have to wear them to work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I don't wear them often, but here's another look with wide-legged trousers in case anyone is interested. :-) http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/10/todays-everyday-fashion_18.html
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to put all those colors together, but I love it!!

I just wrote about how much I am looking forward to wearing my red pea coat this winter (http://fashionablemomma.com/red-pea-coat/) but now you may have convinced me to go out and buy a red blazer as well!
ReplyDeleteLove the pants as well. It's a change from your normal skinny pants.
I seriously always find inspiration at Jcrew...always
