Today's Everyday Fashion: California Girl

I tweeted the other day: "There is way more to life than fashion, but you also can't go through life without getting dressed." Leave the house without clothes = you will get arrested. :-) That said, we've all had those days when you are running around and need to just throw something on. My strategy is to save time by not doing my hair, putting on a trusty pair of denim shorts or jeans, and a fun t-shirt. I added these beach-y necklaces and off I went! Not the most glamorous or put-together I've ever looked, but "California-girl casual" is one of my favorite types of outfits, and definitely my go-to when I'm in a rush. What is your strategy for getting dressed quickly?

  1. I have been working early in the AM so lately I have been wearing jeggings, flats, tank and flow-y short sleeve top! It's perfect because it is colder in the morning in New England but hot when I get out at noon.
I love the color in this outfit the white shorts really makes the pink pop!

  2. Ok, when I don't have time to put something together - I still never look like that ;)
Maybe I should go through my closet and drawers... and go shopping

  3. Hot outfit J, love it!!  As a California girl here, your outfit is definitely a fashion staple around here.  When I'm in a rush, now that it's summer, I like to do the same as you, you can never go wrong with a cute pair of shorts and a top!

  4. Too funny your post is Cali girl. I literally just got back from a week in San Diego! And it's true - you need to get dressed quickly. I wore boat shoes a lot. They were comfy, great for all the walking, and casual cool. Love the casual flow of your shirt.

  5. My strategy is usually an easy, breezy dress (one piece!  so fast!) a couple of long necklaces (to look a little more polished) and a ponytail.  Fast but cute.

I'm loving the bright pink on you!

  6. For me...I throw on a solid coloured dress with a jean jacket, a fun necklace and wedges.  I also throw my hair back in a ponytail as well and if I am really running short on time, I may forego the make-up and just wear shades and some gloss :)

  7. I'm a big prepster, so my quick outfit is a pair of JCrew shorts and a vneck tshirt or polo button down!

  10. Love this look J!  I pretty much do the same thing when I'm just running around too!  Hair goes up, plain simple shorts and a cute top and accessories!!  Accessories just make anyone seem put together, no?

  12. Totally agree Lia! I joke that if I could wear a white t-shirt and a different statement necklace everyday I could be happy. Accessories make the look!
