ReplyDeleteLove the pink cardy the best :)
My favorites are the mustard and the royal blue. This was a great post. Thanks for sharing all your colorful cardigans in so many ways!

I love the yellow and the dark purple on you.. I love cardigans.. I have pink, purple, red, dark blue, tons of black, striped, and I want to have: bright pink, yellow and bright green ;)

I'm totally a cardigan girl, but only pair it over solid white or black, or a print with white or black in it. I will definitely try to step it up, because I love your combinations. Thanks for the inspiration, once again, J!!
ReplyDeleteI love cardigans. Your site has made me realize V neck ones are much better for wearing over other shirts which of course I don't have nearly as many of!
ReplyDeleteI loove the purple one and have always loved look number two in the purple and pink category.
ReplyDeleteCardigans are my favorite. I always have one with me just in case I get cold. I have all colors and kinds. I really like LOFT cardigans the best because they wash nicely. As for color black ones match everything but I love all the colors that you have! CupcakesandCardigans
ReplyDeleteIn the July issue of Lucky Magazine, the masthead discussed "Cost Per Wear," and if this posting does not exemplify fashionomics...I don't know what else could! Great job on showing us all how to stretch our money! www.bravoerunway.com
ReplyDeleteM, great point - not only are cardigans beautiful but they are also so practical! I am always cold so I usually throw one in my purse just in case too!
ReplyDeleteMegan, I have the same issue - it can be 100 degrees outside and I will be trying to stop myself from buying cardigans! :-) As for belting them - give it a try! Like anything else in fashion, it's all about trial and error. Experiment in your room one day and see if you can get the right look - I think anyone can belt a cardigan it's just about getting the right size belt in the right place! Here's my how-to video that might help with some tips: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/11/video-how-to-belt-cardigan_12.html
ReplyDeleteSharon, absolutely! Thanks for asking!
ReplyDeleteI have not been able to find a mustard cardigan anywhere!!!! I have been looking since I saw how fabulous you made it look :(
ReplyDeleteI think the royal blue and the mustard are my favorites. Those colors just seem to compliment so many other colors- they are almost as versatile and a neutral! I'm gonna go write something nice about my beautiful cardigans..... you have inspired me :)
ReplyDeleteis it possible to buy stock in cardigans? You should do that! :)

Thanks for the inspiration! Your cardigan pictures gave me some ideas on how to re-use some of the things in my own closet. One of my favorites is the third outfit! I like the blue and green cardis best, but that's probably just because I'm partial to those colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing ideas on how to wear some colorful cardigans! (:
You did a great job narrowing down the selection! We have dressy, casual, office, and everything else in between! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI really believe you can never have enough cardigans. Love this post! you look great in everythg.
ReplyDeleteI just found a mustard colored 3/4 sleeve cardigan at oldnavy.com in the women's "new arrivals" section.
ReplyDeleteI love all your cardigan looks, but I would have to say that my absolute favorite colors are the electric blue (that is one of my favorite colors) and also the blush is really nice because it is a neutral and you can pair it with many things.
ReplyDeleteI love all your cardigans! Yellow is my favorite color so I'll have to say I love the yellow one the best. I never know what colors/shades go with my outfits tho...any suggestions on how to figure that out? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS POST!!!!
ReplyDeletei love love love cardigans. thanks for all the inspiration here.
ReplyDeleteYep..totally convinced I need more cardigans! Banana Republic makes the best ones!! : )
ReplyDeleteGreat post, J!
ReplyDeleteThank you for justifying my purchase of 4 cardigans when it is over 100 degrees outside!
ReplyDeleteI love cardigans and these are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!! You can never have enough cardigans is my philosophy! I love the muted turquoise. I think I need one too. And I've been on the hunt for a plain navy cardi.
ReplyDeleteI love that you can throw on a colourful cardigan and it can completely change you look...I would have to say my favorite one is the purple

I love colorful cardigans. I wear them a lot when I am teaching because they are so versatile. I like how you styled the purple and pink ones especially. Thanks for giving me more ideas for how to wear my own!
ReplyDeleteI recently started following your blog and absolutely love it!!! This post is amazing, as I too am a cardi-addict! I noticed before you said you take all your pictures once per week...is that how you took these? or is this a compilation of pics from over time? They are all so well put together! Just curious!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog if you like-it's similar, about creating affordable looks inspired by the runway!

WOW. Can I say this is one of the fav post of mine? I loved it! I love cardi's bec they add a touch of color to the outfit, keeps me warm on those cold nights to wear with on top of dresses, they can be worn with anything - plain or pattern and adds a even ncier touch if belted!

Great cardis! I just came across your blog and it's fabulous! :) I bought two cardigans from Lilly yesterday -- love them, but not the price tag. I might have to check out some of these reasonably-priced cardis; they make some of my sleeveless dresses more wearable in the evening when it cools off here. I like the Blush from loft - so pretty! Glad I found you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! And welcome to the blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda! Flashback Fridays are a compilation of outfits I have already posted in the past.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel! I use inspiration photos to come up with fun color combinations, and that's how I usually decide what colors to use. You can also feel free to use any of the outfits that I post as inspiration! If you can't find a photo to help - then I usually try on a bunch of colors, and I make sure to try a couple unexpected colors b/c sometimes they wind up being the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting where you find your cardigans! Every year I struggle with finding cardigans that fit me properly and don't lose their shape after I wash them twice. I love adding them to outfits and they're perfect for so many different occasions.
ReplyDeleteLots of great inspiration in this post! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI have already added 2 cardis to my collection since I found your blog. An orange one and a deep purple. And they were on sales ,too.
ReplyDeleteGreat! super like it.=)

Out of all the outfits I have searched through in the past few days since I have discovered your blog, I am the most excited about buying a few cardigans and a couple more skinny belts to create SO MANY new outfits!
ReplyDeleteLove that all your outfits are stylish and very affordable! My page is called Affordable Fashion and I have a similar idea in posting the cute outfits I've found at Ross.

Amazing!!! Do this again, please. I love all of the ideas and am not even close to capable of coming up with anything cute on my own. I'm in love with this post!

ReplyDeleteI love all of your cardigans! The colors are so bright and pretty. I wish our area stores sold the colorful sweaters. All I see in the stores are white, black, and brown. Boring!! Is there a way to wear the cardi so it doesn't look so frumpy? My husband and daughters tease me all the time, saying I'm wearing one of my "granny sweaters". You make all of the outfits beautiful, but when I wear a sweater, I look like an old lady. I'm not!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee Ann! I think there a lot of factors to consider. Fit would be a big one - if the cardigan is too loose or too long, it can look frumpy. Color is another one - I think a bright, fun color is going to look more young than a brown (although I love a good neutral sweater myself). And how you wear it is another. Try belting it or wearing it with a ruffled blouse underneath!
ReplyDeleteI feel Lee Ann's pain. I can't seem to get a cardigan to look cute. J- Can you do a video tutorial or post on finding the right cardigan fit. I would love to incorporate this into my wardrobe but I feel like they are either too big, long, square, etc. on me. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think it's really tough to generalize advice like finding a good cardigan fit, even if I used models with different body shapes. It's really all about trial and error and trying on cardigans you find while out and about. You may enjoy this video though - I talk about belting a cardigan and wearing it buttoned vs. not! http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/11/video-how-to-belt-cardigan_12.html
ReplyDeleteQuestion, when purchasing a cardigan are you suppose to purchase so it can button up in front? Or is that personal preference? I always have this dilemma with blazers and cardigans. thanks in advance
ReplyDeletehey.. i love your blog. do you have suggestions which color to buy? my clothes mostly were neutral (aka boring), and i had grey and turqoise already. i wanted to add some color to my collection.
ReplyDeleteI would go with a color you love and are naturally drawn to, and one that looks good with your complexion! Try a bunch on at a store and find a shade you love.
