Today's Everyday Fashion: The Denim Alternative
What I love about this outfit is that it is just as comfy, if not more comfy than wearing jeans -- but you can also get away with wearing it at work. These pants are dressy, but they are lined with a silky material that makes you feel like you're wearing pajama pants. The cork wedges are really comfortable and have a laid-back vibe, and the leather jacket just puts you in a good mood. Overall, the epitome of comfort and style mixed together. Not only would this work at the office, but I think it's a cute look for running errands too! How do you balance being comfortable and dressed up at work? Are you on team comfort or team style?

gorgeous outfit! What kind of purse would you wear with this outfit? I'm always curious about what type of purses you wear with your outfits ;) Also, are there any purse "no-nos", as in are there some purses that should never be paired with certain outfits? :)
ReplyDeleteI see your already wearing white pants...I have always been told no white pants until Easter. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteLove this look J! I'm all about style first then comfort. We have to look polished so jeans, sweats, flip-flops, etc are a no-no. I've found that the clothing is easy - it's all about finding a good comfy pair of heels!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have the same question as Sara - I'd love to see your purses & earrings too...sometimes I think if I have on a chunky necklace or some bracelets that earrings are just "too" much. I could be wrong so I'd love to see how to balance it all.
I'm somewhere between team comfort and team style. It depends entirely on the day and the weather!

Love the outfit! I struggle with this every single day. I'm a programmer working in a room with other programmers who always choose comfort over style! Plus, we have no dress code, which can be good or bad on any given day.
ReplyDeleteOutfits like these are great because they look professional, but maintain that comfort level.
Thanks for all the great ideas :)
Thanks Sarra! I only have two purses - white Juicy Couture boxy and dark brown Juicy Couture saddle, and I think either would look okay. I'm really not a purse person though. Especially when I was working at an office - no one ever sees your purse at work, and I was carrying a gym bag and my lunch when I walked in/out so I never paid much attention to my bag! :-) I'm still learning about purses though, I probably commit "no no's" myself all the time!
ReplyDeleteI go for style--especially at work. I feel more professional when I'm dressed up, and I feel like people take me more seriously.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't apply today, though, because it's wacky tacky day at my school. :) I'm rocking lime green crocs--doesn't get any wackier or tackier than those!
I LOVE THAT JACKET!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gabe! Check out my response to Sarra's purse question below. Not sure what you mean about earrings though, I'm not wearing any with this outfit?
ReplyDeleteHaha, gotta love the lime green crocs! ps. I'm a style person for work too (most days). I think it makes it more fun!
ReplyDeleteI have always been told not to wear white pants until Easter. What are your thoughts to when it is ok to wear white pants?
ReplyDeleteAngie, the pants are ivory, but I did a post about wearing white before Memorial Day last week - check it out!!

Thanks! I am new to your blog and I love! Just went out and buy the cute Loft top you blogged about a couple of days ago!! You have a gift!
ReplyDeleteI love that jacket....so cute! I am dying to find a pair of wedges like that too!
ReplyDeletegreat alternative!
ReplyDeleteTeam both! But it also depends on the day. If I'm going to wear jeans to work, they must be comfortable, and I will then dress them up with a nice jacket or cardigan and good shoes.
ReplyDeleteJ- I love this look! I used to be very anti white (or ivory) pants so early in the season but I recently saw a Nordstrom employee rocking white cropped skinny pants and you rocking these. I think if you have the right pairings it is totally do-able!
ReplyDeleteI'm team "whatever you wear, i must copy."
ReplyDeleteI definitely LOLed on that one aubrey!! :-) hahaa....
ReplyDeleteDo it, do it, do it.... no pressure or anything though! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie! Welcome to the blog!! :-)

Yay, thank you! Welcome to the blog!
ReplyDeleteI have a few pairs of trousers that sound like yours--lined and silky, almost like wearing PJs. I try to only wear jeans ("comfort") once or twice a week at work, and the other days trousers, skirts, or dresses, which are almost always still pretty comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI'm team comfort. I'd like to be team comfort AND style. Still working on that one! Ha!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally more fun! If I didn't like clothes, I would probably just go casual all the time, but dressing up is way more fun!
ReplyDeleteAnother great look. I am loving going through your posts!
