Today's Everyday Fashion: Celebrity Inspired

Inspired by: Who What Wear

This Olivia Palermo look is one of my all-time favorite celebrity outfits. I wish I could afford her actual outfit (those shoes!) but for now I will stick to the closest thing I've got hanging in my closet.  I love the high heels for a night out, or for a more casual backyard soiree (where I wore it a couple weeks ago), then earthy sandals will do. Would you wear Olivia's outfit? What shoes would you wear?

  1. I really love this outfit combo. The colors are really pretty and summery without being overwhelming.

  2. Hi, are you putting sale or coupon prices up? That Express top is $49.50 where I am, unless you had a coupon... I'm wondering how you got it cheaply.

  3. Cute! I love the colors and how it is kind of a laid back chic. I wonder how it would look with a bubble bib necklace.

  8. Love! I like it better with the first pair of shoes. It just flows and gives your legs a longer look. My fav 80's trend is massive hair neon anything.

  11. What is the name of the shirt color? I saw it on the Express website for 49.50 as well. But I can't tell which color you have. There are tons to choose from!

  12. Olivia Palermo is adorable and I agree, I love her shoes, but I love your version of the look. I think I even prefer it! I wouldn't mind having Olivia's sunglasses, though! Great job on a fantastic, fun outfit!

  17. I actually like your version better, but I love Olivia Polermo's style (although not her attitude according to The City). I'd go with the heels. And I also love that Adidas watch.

  18. I believe the color name is "Bali Blue" and they are sold-out online!

  19. Yes, I always put the price I paid personally - which is almost always a sale or promo. Casey is correct - I got both the shirt and skirt for 50% off on Black Friday!

  20. The heels are best with this - much more elegant and refined. I second @google-4342a91fa3ca7e72c29c673a56954556:disqus - I prefer your look over hers. I think your skirt really completes the outfit!

  23. I'm loving the aztec printed skirt with the sequins, it's so cute! Out of all the picks above my favorites are definitely the cut out heart shirt, Dillard's skirt, and the bathing suit from Neiman Marcus.

  30. I love this! I saw a pastel sequined mini for $10 at JCPennys last summer and am now regretting not getting it because of your outfit!

  31. I prefer your outfit as a whole, so pretty, but LOVE the scallop detailing in OP's version!

  32. I just love how you translated the curved, *SOFTER LOOK* of Olivia Palermo's floral s.c.a.l.l.o.p.e.d. shorts............ and sheer r.u.f.f.l.e. -front blouse with it's r.u.f.f.l.e. -edged sleeves

    ----into----

a more linear, *ANGULAR LOOK* with your A.z.t.e.c. -print skirt............ and semi-sheer shirt with it's s.q.u.a.r.e. yoke; p.a.t.c.h. pockets; and convertible, roll- (a.n.g.u.l.a.r.) -tab sleeves!!

Maybe (??) a good "Take-Away Lesson" from your gorgeously-styled outfit, J., is that if, say, a Floral//Ruffled//Scalloped-Edge Outfit isn't necessarily one's own Personal Style, you can still, however............ use such an outfit, simply for COLOR Inspiration............ i.e., with which to then style a more Linear//Angular Outfit for yourself!!

  33. I actually love your outfit MUCH more than Olivia Palermo's. That skirt is phenomenal and looks great with both the heels and the sandals!
