Today's Everyday Fashion: Sunshine

Inspiration: Shabby Apple

I heard that everyone up north is buried in snow so I both apologize for the summery outfit, and hope that it sends you a ray of sunshine! We are having a warm streak (temps in the 80's) and this inspiration photo instantly made me want to try my polka dot top with yellow jeans and necklace. (See below for four additional ways I've worn it.) Also, I've had these shoes for about five years; they aren't the cutest but they make this outfit possible for a long day on my feet! Which polka dot outfit is most your style?

  3. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I will have to say with your yellow pants.  They are really a ray of sunshine since we have been having cold, rainy or snowy, and gray days.  Heather

  4. So cute! We are definitely cold cold cold here in the NE, but your outfit definitely brought sunshine to me! I have bright yellow jeans like those as well and now I know what to pair with them once it's warm! Thanks J!

  6. I love this look. The bright yellow is so fun. And since the snow just started here, I could use all the sunshine I can get.  I love this polka dot top... you've clearly shown how versatile it is. It's hard to pick a favorite look, but I'm always partial to the orange, so that's definitely up there.  Although I really love the pairing with the blazer too! Let's just say you can't go wrong with polka dots! :) Have a great weekend.

  9. I have two favorites...the 2nd and 4th looks! The 2nd looks so comfortable and casual, but the 4th I could wear for a "jeans day" at work.

  12. i like it best with the cognac cardigan. i am so obsessed with polka dots right now. it takes so much self control not to buy up every polka dot blouse/sweater I see. especially the f21 and new old navy polka dot sweaters oy.

  14. Honestly, I can see myself in all of those outfits.  Each of your outfits is a near perfect reflection of my everyday style minus the bauble necklaces that I don't own :( I need to get me some of those!
    Thanks for the share!

    1. I'm also in Boston and let me tell you, it does not look pretty out here. We are just buried in snow.

  17. I like this outfit and how instead of copying your "inspiration" outfit almost exactly, you actually took inspiration from the photo  but made it your own. I think it's better when you don't exactly replicate someone else's outfit because by making your own outfit it gives you a little more personality and customized look to yourself!!

  39. Favorites: the one on the far right or the second one (but with skinny jeans). Also, Target has a near identical shirt (which I own and love) to the F21 one listed above - it almost makes me think they use the same manufacturer: http://www.target.com/p/mossimo-women-s-long-sleeve-polka-dot-blouse/-/A-14201449#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=polka+dot+blouse

  40. With it now being cold - ( currently 20 degrees F., and dropping) - and snowy here in Pennsylvania, I really should just be PRACTICAL and want to wear----from your immediately-previous post----your (very feminine!!) "take" on a traditional Lumberjack Outfit;  however, (if I had the pieces)............ I'd simply want to wear your polka dot top with yellow jeans and necklace INSTEAD, i.e., while *daydreaming* about............ Sunshine............ Outdoor Warmth............ and Springtime!!

Your colorful polka-dot-and-yellow outfit makes me smile, J., just like this delightfully  *C.O.L.O.R.F.U.L.*  photograph----taken in (very cold!!) Reykjavik, Iceland, during the last week of January, 2013----also makes me feel *happy*, too!!    'Wish we here in the U.S. would use (widespread) color during Wintertime, such as the Icelanders routinely do in clothing and housing:
