Today's Everyday Fashion: Blush and Neutrals

Inspiration: Talbots

I wore this yesterday for church, lunch, and a small roadtrip. I was inspired to mix blush with neutrals thanks to my inspiration photo - or rather, I put together this outfit in my closet and then remembered the photo, realizing that's probably where I got the idea. :-) Also, boots are very much on sale right now so I'm hoping to pick up a pair. Finding ones that aren't huge on my calves has been tough, but I love every single pair below so I'm getting out my measuring tape and reading a bunch of reviews, then picking a couple to try. Would you wear these colors? What boots would you order?

  1. Love the ones by Aldo & by Jessica Simpson. Totally depends on what kind of heel you're looking for, though. I'm assuming you already have a pair of cognac riding boots though, so the heel on the ones by Jessica Simpson could be a great contrast to a low heel/flat boot. :)

  2. I like the Jessica Simpson Chad Leather Boots the best, I think. I can't NEVER get enough boots, though, so I say order 'em all! ;)

  3. I bought the Jessica Simpson (top row) boots on sale a few weeks ago. I love them! They have just enough heel, but are super comfortable.

  5. Such a great Sunday sophisticated look! I have a pair of brown boots with a heel that I got from DSW a year ago and they are perfect. So comfortable and loose around the calf, but not too wide.

  6. I have the Jessica Simpson boots in whiskey and I absolutely love them.  I wear them all the time.  Not only that, but I teach first grade and I wear them all day and they feel great.  Highly recommend!

  7. I guess it really depends on what style you're looking for. The Aldo pair is nice and classy but if you're looking for something more laid back, then the lower heeled pairs would be better. I know you may not have too much time to browse TJ Maxx but I just bought a pair of Coach boots from there for a steal!

  8. I like the Steve Maddens - I like some detail on my boots.  I think the studs add an on-trend aspect too, without being ridiculous (like some studded shoes I've seen).  Also love the blush and neutral combo.  Very cute.

  9. I really love the light pastel pink of your pants, pastels have been getting quite popular lately and I think that color looks great! My favorite boots are either the Jessica Simpson ones or the Dolce Vita, hope that helps!

  12. I like your outfit so much better than the inspiration photo!! And tough choice with the boots since they're all so similar... I'd probably get the Nine West ones since it looks like the back half of them is suede? Very fun :)

  17. I fell in love with and ordered the JS boots, but they were so small in the calves for my large calves, so I bet they'd fit you perfect!

  18. The color combo is really terrific and suits you well. I really wish you'd try something other than skinny jeans/pants every single day though.

  19. I love all of the boots!  I have been on the search for a great knee-high dark brown leather boot for the past two seasons.  I have super skinny calves though and haven't been able to find a single pair that looked good - and I have probably tried on about 200 pairs haha!  I think I'll just have to find a pair that I love and take them to a shoe repair place and get them fitted :/  And I love your outfit!!

  23. I'm hoping to replace the pair I have now - they are slightly too small for me in the toe and I wear them so much that it might be time for an upgrade!

  26. Hi, does anyone who owns the JS boots a size 6? I'm wondering what the height is. I don't like the boots hitting right at my knee, I like it when it's a couple of inches under. I think it makes one look short, instead of elongating the legs. It says in product informations that it's 16.5" high for a size seven, which is way too long for me. 15" is my max, I think. Anyone with any info on this? Also, any opinions on how to shorten them and whether it's worth, if the quality was ok or bad? Thanks.
PS: Aldo, NW and JS are my faves, but I think the Aldo one is wide. I might have tried it. I also suffer from chicken legs syndrome so most boots are also very wide for me. That's why I was so excited about the JSs!

  30. I actually have the boots you have listed except the Clarks. J.Simps makes flawless heels but her lower heel boots left me very disappointed needless to say they went to ebay along with the Nine West boots which were a family gift. I actually own the Vince Camuto Boot in black and brown besides my Frye boots they are my absolute favorite. Happy Boot Shopping ! :)

  33. I love this outfit - the colors work so well together.

To be honest about the boots, I'm not really a fan of any of them. They remind me a lot of your current heeled brown boots. Maybe a flatter boot? Or one in black?

  34. Ha ha I read this and laughed to myself, because I am 5'6" with sz 9.5-10 feet as well and I have a hard time finding boots as well! They are often too tall and hit my knees or too wide in the calves... just because I have big feet doesn't mean I'm tall and have big calves!!
