Gray, mint and navy polka dots - a fun combo that I spotted on Pinterest and decided to try with my own clothes. My navy polka dot pencil skirt was calling my name this time around, but you could do any number of combinations to create this outfit, based on the items already in your closet. How would you wear this combo?

  1. That's a fun combination!  My navy polka dot skirt is easily my most-used skirt.  I love it!

  2. I love this color combo. Navy and mint or navy and aqua are gorgeous together!

  3. I love this!  Your colors are paired perfectly together.  The mint and navy is a great combo. I would also consider a coral top too.

  7. gah believe it or not, I paid full price for that top. upsetting, I know.  it's sold out online and my local Express had a handful of them. i do have a $50 Express gift card from e-rewards (awesome rewards system!) so I'm thinking about returning it and buying it back because they won't do price adjustments.

  11. Maybe in the summer you could use a light gray top with mint sandals? Really, that skirt could be used year-round, I think.

  12. Fun combination of color and print. I am a big fan of both mint and polka-dots, so have several possible combos in my closet: mint jeans, navy polka-dot top, gray cardigan (just like inspiration); black polka-dot skirt, gray tank, mint cardigan; polka-dot pants, mint shell, gray cardigan; gray pants, mint blouse, polka-dot cardigan (dare I go on?).

  15. I have this same image posted! And I have the same grey sweater you do, so now I'm inspired to wear it with my mint jeans. Thanks!

  16. I know :( I didn't think I wanted it then. Then I saw it in store wayy after all the sales were over and decided I loved it, but of course it's selling out fast.  Sigh. I'll pretend my gift card cancels it out when I use it on a future purchase

  17. Ahh just read your reply on Kendi Everyday (yeah I'm one of those that actually reads comments lol) and if it was not for your inspiration creations and her tendency to copy cat and both of your loves for color I would not have explored my closet, clearance racks and the ever loving thrift finds! I would just be a run of the mill office shirt, khaki wearing (blah) kinda worker walking around down town O town! Thanks for the creations and ideas :)

  18. I love how bright your blouse is!! I think the second outfit is my favorite because you see more of the shirt. I would wear this except instead of a skirt, I'd love it in the same print and colors but skinny jeans. I think it would be just as cute and a little more casual.

  23. I recently wore an outfit similar to this!! I felt a lil mix-match! But after seeing you wear, now I think I may have pulled it off!! I wore a peplum polkadot top and mint jeans.

  24. I have a navy polka dot skirt that I found on sale at the loft that I have been absolutely DYING to wear- this post is just what I needed! I also have a shirt similar to what you have on, but I wasn't sure if I liked that or wanted to go with a coral/pink color. If you wore it, I know I can wear it ;)

  25. The way you recreated this outfit is so cute! I'm loving the polka dot skirt with the mint.

  26. Your navy-and-white polka dot skirt almost seems to make the cool, refreshing mint color of your shirt............ *g.l.o.w.*!!    (I love how EXPRESS' Portofino Shirts have tonal buttons, too, i.e., instead of white buttons----'much more polished!!)    Such a beautiful outfit here, J.!!

  27. I really like this color combination, I think the grey cardigan tones down the colors a bit which is nice. I feel there's a bit much going on around the neck area though with the little ruffle things and that big necklace. I think a simpler necklace would have been perfect!

  28. J-- do you know what color your necklace is? Trying to order the same one from Red Dress Botique and I can't tell if you have the "vanilla" one...:) :) Thank you!!!

  29. I just looked and I don't think they have mine in stock anymore. The vanilla looks too ivory, but the white one isn't right either - it has silver beads and mine are gold!
