I simply can't get enough of the aztec trend! The top outfit I wore around cold and rainy Orlando yesterday. (See how else I wore the sweater here.) The bottom outfit is just for fun and I would love to wear with thick tights (light or dark gray) in a colder climate. (See outfit with similar skirt here.) Aztec trend: yay or nay? Which outfit is your favorite?

I love both of those outfits! I shy away from aztec prints because they seem so heavy to me, but you paired them with light colors. It kinds of "brings them down" a bit and makes them pop at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the hunt for a similar sweater, I love yours.

Love the sweater coat. Haven't yet tried the Aztec trend, but I really like this piece. May have to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the cardi! Beautiful with the aqua blue top underneath...and the belt with boots look amazing!, bang on with this one :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater and skirt - but I agre I think Id love it more with grey tights underneath.
ReplyDeleteLove the first outfit with the sweater. I love how you belted it to show off your waist. I don't really like the skirt on the bottom, it looks great on you but you are so thin, I think it would look me look bigger than I am because of the print, but that white sweater looks so comfy to bundle up in.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that belt?! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteThere is a similar belt in brown on facebook. Search for Twine &Tulle Boutique & look under the ready to ship photos. It's the last one & only $20!
DeleteLove this trend but I haven't been bold enough to try it myself yet...I love both of these outfits! I wish that sweater wasn't sold out :( I might have to snatch that skirt if it goes on sale though

Whoops, I will add that to the post! It's from Gap about 5 years ago. My all-time favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love the aztec look! Always have!
ReplyDeleteLove the top one!
ReplyDeleteI really love how you styled the aztec skirt. I have been eyeing it from Express for a while but wasn't sure how much use I'd get out of it since I only pictured wearing it on a night out on the town. I love how you styled it in a classy way that can be worn anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater! And your belt is perfect for it. I like how it's wide around but thinner at the buckle. All my belts are either wide the whole way around or skinny the whole way, and I don't love them for belting cardigans/sweaters. But yours is perfect. I'll have to keep my eye out for one like yours.
ReplyDeleteI love belted cardigan sweaters! And you really did a great job with the skirt outfit. The boots add just the right amount of ruggedness.

Both looks are great on you!! For whatever reason I just love that cardigan on you though :)

i love these prints - they are so flattering because the print detracts from any other imperfections! they also look so cozy!

I'm drooling over the first outfit! Gah! So cute! As for the second one, I agree with another poster that it'd look best on skinny minnies like you. I think I have a bit too much junk in my trunk for that one :)
ReplyDeleteJ, i love the first outfit! i must say the first time you wore that cardi (i follow u everyday) it didnt convince me quite much, i thought u look bigger than u actually are. But now with the belt looks awesome!!! i wanna try it right now :) by the way i love your work u truly are my inspiration
ReplyDeletesuch a perfect sweater.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater! The skirt isn't doing it for me, but I don't dislike
ReplyDeleteit, either. I just prefer the pattern on the top, I think. Gorgeous!
You look great! Love how you styled that sweater.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the first look... i ADORE my aztec sweater!

I'm loving the Aztec! The skirt is super cute on you, but the sweater is more my style!
ReplyDeleteLoving Aztec prints right now! I have been debating for months if I should buy that skirt! I think this is a sign I should buy it!

ReplyDeleteThose boots with the skirt are hideous- sorry but that does NOT look fashion forward.
ReplyDeleteLove the aztec print! Here is another great option for under $50 http://daisyraeboutique.com/shop/outerwear/tribal-oversized-cardigan/

I'm loving this trend
ReplyDeleteLooks good on you but not something I would buy for myself. Like the sweater outfit better than the skirt. The skirt might be better suited for summer with sandals or maybe with sleeker boots.
ReplyDeleteI just love how you've styled all of your previous and today's "Aztec" and/or "tribal" pieces; but your second outfit (Above) with your Express Sequin-Embellished, Aztec-Print Mini-Skirt is *really, r.e.a.l.l.y. pretty*!! Whenever I see a bold geometric print----(e.g., Aztec, tribal, modernistic, or otherwise)----worn against a white background, like your lovely ivory turtleneck sweater............ well, it's almost like viewing *a fine piece of art*~~(against a professionally-lighted, white background)~~in a Museum............ OR like looking at a good piece of art in a home with white walls to showcase a Personal Art Collection, you know!!
ReplyDeleteFor a dressier version, since you already----(with your ivory turtleneck sweater)----have "the white Museum BACKGROUND part" for your Aztec-print skirt............ for "the professional Museum LIGHTING part," I could also see your maybe wearing soft pearl-gray, lightweight tights; pale gray-taupe, heeled suede Booties, (i.e., Forever 21, in your 12/20/12 post); and shiny, *g.e.o.m.e.t.r.i.c.* Stella & Dot "Talia Teardrop Earrings"............ to subtly highlight your skirt's bold Aztec print, too, J.!!:

There's a pic w Blake Lively in a similar Aztec-print blazer recently, very nice!
ReplyDeleteI never have liked Aztec. But I just absolutely love the belt and baby blue shirt you paired with it. It looks stunning on you and I kinda want some Azzietec stuff know. Thanks for sharing your talents in your blog with us.
ReplyDeleteNot digging on the aztec at all :(
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE your boots (as seen with your white sweater)! Those are gorgeous! Are the new? Excellent choice, and great taste J!
ReplyDeleteI like the Aztec print! I've had trouble finding ones that I like. Good find!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of both Aztec items! Pretty!
