Today's Everyday Fashion: The Aztec Cardi

One of my favorite by-products of posting what's on my wish list is how helpful you guys are with shopping leads! About a month ago I posted my November wish list and as it turned out, Amour Boutique was selling the exact same Aztec cardigan I was drooling over (and they were selling it for way less - take note ladies). It arrived right before my trip to Kansas and I wore it on the plane that very same day, and at least three times since then. I love this style of sweater because it's incredibly comfortable but also unique and stylish. I also plan on pairing it with purple or mint skinnies, and an orange or turquoise shirt. Have you tried an aztec cardigan yet?

Sweater: c/o Amour Boutique, $54 sold out
Purple t-shirt: Gap, old (similar, similar)
Jeans: American Eagle, $25
Boots: c/o Chinese Laundry, $150 (10% off with code AF10SHOE)
Necklace: Topshop, $20 (similarsimilar)
Rings: My Stella & Dot website $69 and $39
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot website $59 and $59 and $79

  2. I have been lusting over an aztec cardi that is beige with black, red and teal but havn't found one. Not sure where I saw it but I did and I have been looking everywhere for one.  I love this mustard one you picked out though, it is so cute. It is nice to add some color in your winter wardrobe with this. This look is perfect to class in college.

  10. Love aztec cardigans; they add a little bit of trend to your look but are quite wearable...as long as you don't get too tribal with the rest of your outfit. Haha!

  15. I think that aztec prints can be really cheap looking sometimes, especially when it's on a bag. I love the print of your sweater but when shopping for things with an aztec print be careful of the material and make sure it's not cheap or else it will probably wear down easily.

  19. The golden tan/caramel background-color of your Aztec-print cardigan is just absolutely *gorgeous* with your skin tone, J.!!    It seems as if Aztec-print *something*, (i.e., cardigans, pullover sweaters, shirts, skirts, vests, jackets, etc.), have been around............ and essentially "in style," too!!............ FOREVER!!    Armour Boutique's NEON Aztec Cardigan (#1, Above)----or other similar "Aztec Electric Cardigans"----are a new, *trendier take* on an old design;  but I think the color/cut/style of  y.o.u.r.  particular Armour Boutique Aztec-print cardigan is genuinely............ *timeless*!!    The same goes for Traditional Fair Isle Knits:  in style FOREVER, (haha)!!

By the way, Old Navy calls their cardigans----(i.e., #5, Above)----"Women's Fair Isle Cardis";  but the pattern sure seems like it's *really big* FOR a Traditional Fair Isle Pattern.    To me, it seems more like (some type of) a tribal pattern............ e.g., Aztec, Sioux, or otherwise!!

  20. I meant to type *Amour* Boutique, not "Armour Boutique*!!    (If you're a romantic - like me - the difference is CRUCIAL, haha!!)

  22. That necklace! I'm loving that style/color/everything right now.  I just ordered a brilliant light blue pendant from hautelook. I also stumbled upon incredibly cheap and beautiful looking necklaces from a seller on Etsy & ordered some for my mom. I'm waiting for them to arrive before I start shouting from the rooftops about how awesome they are because they could either turn out as expected, or look cheap. Hopefully the pictures don't lie because they were pretty unique and under $15.  Thus far, Etsy hasn't disappointed me when it comes to jewelry.

  24. J, I can't try any new trend until I see if you've deemed it cute or not cute. I wish I was kidding.
I've been passing up Aztec sweaters all season, just because I felt I couldn't pull them off in a way that didn't scream "grandma". But I might try now! :)

  27. Love it! You picked a great one! I've been eyeing one at Target but it's a plain black and cream - no vibrant colors like this. I'm hoping this trend sticks around for a while :)

  30. Looks great on you, but I just can't do it. I feel like I need to be in New Mexico selling turquoise jewelry at a souvenir shop to be wearing anything with those patterns on it.
