Today's Everyday Fashion: Shoe Change

I snapped these photos on the way out the door on Sunday. I wore the top outfit for church and dinner, and the bottom outfit for errands (Ikea means lots of walking). I love throwing an extra pair of shoes in my vehicle and switching depending on the occasion; it's a trick I use often! I'm also just a tad obsessed with polka dots lately, and I like how the bubble necklace plays off the pattern. Do you ever bring extra shoes with you?

  2. Almost every day! I walk about a mile to and from campus on the weekdays. If will wear comfy shoes for the walk, but bring cute shoes for school/work. In the colder weather I'll wear boots on the walk for added warmth, but bring another option with me.
You look great, by the way :)

  3. I love both looks!  The leopard heels play well with the polka dots.  I don't do shoe changes in winter much, but I do in the summer.  Heather

  5. I work at a university and have to walk a decent distance from the parking lot to the office as well as (some days) between buildings - so besides the fact that it can get uncomfortable to do all that walking in heels, they tend to take a beating from all of the walking on concrete.  I've gotten used to sticking what my husband calls "parking lot shoes" in my purse for those days.

  6. I have been known to keep an extra pair of shoes in the car. My shoe switch is usually determined by being with or without the kids. ;)
    Love the polka dots.

BTW - I heart Ikea. I just got a newer, bigger car. My first thought was that I need an Ikea trip to see how much the car will hold.

  9. I like the bottom outfit better because I feel like the shoes don't quite match in the top outfit. Way to rock the red pants!

  13. I love this outfit! And I totally bring extra shoes with me, usually for what you just described--heels to church and more comfy shoes for lots of errands after.

  14. Both looks are great, but I really like polka dots with those leopard pumps, great pattern mixing!  I usually like to carry a pair of flats with me when I'm wearing some kind of heels, but it all depends on the day! But definitely think that a change of shoes can make a big difference!

  16. Ha! Do I ever carry around an extra pair of shoes. Is the Pope Catholic?? There are so many extra pairs of shoes in my car or at my office that it's hilarious. 1) I don't like to drive in heels because it ruins them, so I try to wear flats, especially when it's cold. 2) My feet start to hurt...very badly...after wearing some of my higher heels for too long, so I have to have back-ups. Love my extra shoes. :-)

  21. I love the top look, and I love the polka dot trend lately, too.  I hope that polka dots stay in fashion for a very long time.  Like forever!  I also love the print on the heels.  It's so fun!

  22. Great outfit. You are so right about the necklace playing off of the sweater. Gorgeous. I bring an extra pair of flip flops when I go to weddings. My feet can't handle dancing for hours in 5 inch heels. Adore the outfit.

  23. My students make fun of me all the time for the stash of shoes under my desk! I change shoes at least 2x a day!

  24. Considering I commute to work via public transit and walking I am always carrying extra shoes around!  Wearing your rain boots all day isn't exactly the best plan...

  25. Polka dots are just so fun and girly! I like how you paired the bubble necklace with that sweater.

I have noticed all of your new Stella & dot jewelry you have been wearing.  Can you do a post outlining what you have bought recently, how your wearing it etc along with any other items you are loving right now!!  I love to see how you style your jewelry, and it is kind of hard to see it up close in the pictures.

    Thanks!!

  34. I just spent way too much money on polka dot hosiery. Large dots, tiny dots & a diamond pattern connected by dots, all in black. Please help me out with some options to style my hosiery in different ways so I can justify this purchase as a great wardrobe extender.

  35. I've been known to carry leopard flats in my purse whenever I'm wearing wedges or heels. They go with everything.

  37. Your polka dot sweater *together with* your bubble necklace are............ "Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne"............ (i.e., from the 1938 pop and jazz standard song, "You Go To My Head)!!    Really beautiful, artistic styling, J.!!

  38. I'm always bringing an extra pair of shoes when I know I'll be shopping after work! It just makes sense.  I can stand heels for a few hours, but not when schlepping all over a mall or big department store.

Found your blog on Pinterest...love your style!

  40. I love both versions of this outfit. I'm still on the hunt for dark red pants (since Target sold out of the ones you're wearing), but they're not easy to find in long sizes. Do you have any recommendations?

  45. I often bring extra shoes in the car. My husband looks at me weird every time and then he's amazed later when I change into them or I need them.

  46. Yeah, this is what we need right now. Everyday fashion, it's hard to find something that will really fit you well and to do that on a daily basis is a tougher one. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate your input.
