Today's Everyday Fashion: Dalmatian Print

I'm crazy for Dalmatian print (also see this post), and my first outfit with my new cardigan was a monochromatic look with different shades of gray and black. I'm thinking next time I will try it with bright colors like pink or blue, or even try mixing it with brown and olive. What colors would you pair with Dalmatian print?

  1. I need gray skinnies! I'd first pair the cardi like you did, but I'd def try a pop of color the next time. Pink or cobalt's the way to go!

  4. You could wear any color with dalmatian print since they're essentially just B&W polka dots :) I'd probably wear it with something fun though like maroon or olive green!

  6. I got this cardigan 2 months ago and was finally able to wear it yesterday.  I paired it with mustard skinnies and a blank tank with black wedge booties.  Love it!

  7. I like your outfit better than the inspiration model.  I also like the monochromatic colors quite a bit, as it saves the outfit from being too busy.  But I bet you could add color, too.

  8. J, how do you like those jeans? I've been eyeing them (and they come in long) so I'm thinking about getting them. Do they stretch out after wearing? One of my two gap skinnies stretch out in the butt a lot :-/

  9. I have that same cardigan and on Wednesday, I had an orange cami underneath it for Halloween - it works great with bright solids!  I love it!

  11. Emily, I've had these gray Gap jeans for about 3 years now, so they might be slightly different than the pair currently in stores. Mine are very stretchy, almost too stretchy (I feel more comfortable if my butt is covered in them), but they don't get saggy-butt like many of my other skinnies so I appreciate that. I have at least 3-4 pairs of skinnies from Gap and none of them seem to do that actually!

  12. Agreed that your outfit actually looks much cuter than the inspirational! Love the way you made it casual with the tee and grey skinnies. Please show another version with a dressier option and a pop of bright color like orange or teal. Thanks!

  15. Great look.  I would also pair a sweater like yours with a bold colour like a berry, emerald or fuschia.

  16. I love this look! I have a monochromatic leopard print cardigan that I like to wear with a black bottom and a bright tank or top underneath. It gives a nice pop, especially when the weather is drab.

  20. Although I don't (unfortunately!) have anything in a black-and-white Dalmatian print, if I had a Dalmatian-print cardigan or dress, I might pair these colors WITH it:

    A)  Some baby blue and black pieces, (e.g., as in your "Today's Everyday Fashion: Nighttime" post of October 7, 2012, using the *three* colors of black;  white;  and baby blue............ Today's Everyday Fashion: Nighttime )

    B)  A silvery, *satiny* top or dress............ with bright blue, *satiny* shoes and/or accessories.
    OR

    C)  Deep gray or charcoal gray pieces............ with orange-red pieces!!

  23. I have thos H&M pants from the inspiration photo, and I wore them today with a light brown cashmere sweater, a chunky black & turquoise necklace, black boots and a camel-colored coat. I feel like with your cardigan, you could switch that and go for camel-colored pants, a turquoise shirt & bag, and a black shoe.

  24. I'd put almost any color with your dalmatians! You could have used it to do Cruella Deville for Halloween!
