Not only did I save this Banana Republic inspiration photo, but I also went out and bought the same shirt (total copycat). I wore the first version for my style seminar at the Grand Forks Women's Show last weekend, the jacket was for extra warmth, and I'm also showing a more casual untucked version with boots on the right. Below you will see my outfit in action, along with Dawn and Shyla's adorable outfits - you'll notice we had a mustard theme going! How would you wear it?
Inspiration photo: Banana Republic
Cardigan: Banana Republic, $19
Shirt: Banana Republic, $40 (similar, similar, similar, similar)
Jeans: UnionBay c/o Kohl's, $23
Belt: Limited, $15
Jacket: H&M, $60 (similar, similar, similar, similar)
Shoes: c/o Nine West, $62
Boots: c/o Chinese Laundry, $150

I love this!! So autumnal :) My favorite is the first look. I'm a sucker for a belt over a cardigan.
ReplyDeleteWow I love this color combo. I love reading your posts and you always look amazing! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI really love all the ways you changed this up. I need to steal this outfit to wear for Thanksgiving!

All of these looks are great! I am having a love affair with mustard yellow and finally completed my collection with a pair of mustard yellow skinnies. It's going to be fun styling them. Heather
ReplyDeletewow, you have made this so versatile!

J, out of curiosity, how many cardigans do you own?
ReplyDeleteI keep buying them out of inspiration to your outfits. :) I almost think you can't ever have too many colors of them and since they're classics, who's counting, right?
Thanks for your site! Steph in MN
This is such a cute outfit!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteso so cute, I love these colors together!

Love it with the boots, & no blazer of belt! So flattering!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit. It's one of my favorites. I'd wear the entire thing!
ReplyDeleteLove the pumps, you look gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat format! I LOVE how you featured 3 looks from one basic outfit, especially the shoe options. While I LOVE the look of heels, they aren't always practical in my work setting, so I love when you also show how you could wear the same outfit with a boot and/or flat. thanks for all you do to keep us inspired!
ReplyDeleteLove! Cute jeans :)

This is great information. I have found this to be some great insights and helpful tips. I also found http://dressingyourtruth.com/ online that had some really good suggestions and ideas.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, especially the last one! :) Super cute and super fall-y!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the last version. I don't know why, but the tie shirt with the button up cardi looks strange to me. I like it open. But great color combo!

J your makeup has been looking really great lately - have you started using new products?
ReplyDeleteI've been keeping my eye on the Grifter boot for awhile. Any idea why it's way more expensive now than the $150 you posted with the link? It's listed as $179 on their website and I swear an hour ago it said $175.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Same products I've been using for years, probably just the lighting. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I got the boots last fall and they were listed as $150 then. It looks like they must've raised the price but I'm not sure when that happened!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous. Love your stying. I actually think you have styled it better than BR ;-) I love the boots too, but think I may be biased, as that's all we can wear the 6 winter months in Denmark ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love, love the first outfit. I think it is classy. I could even wear something similiar to teach.
ReplyDeleteThese are great styling options. I love the first look the best, although I know I would not look great if I wore this look. My body would look best in the third look with the blouse half-tucked and paired with the pumps in the first look.
