Bahamas Cruise - Day 3

Oh lordy, my clothes were a mess on Day 3. This lovely outfit consists of a top I brought to wear as pjamas + shorts I brought to wear as a swim cover-up. Hot, right? :-) We spent all day and night in Nassau on Day 3, and for some reason when I packed it did not occur to me that we could hang out off the boat at night (I've never been on a cruise that stays overnight in a port like that). So when we decided to hit up Senor Frogs after dinner.... I had to pull something together other than the pencil skirt I planned to wear. During the day, we had gorgeous weather and I wore a colorful sundress over a hot pink bathing suit with my new emerald earrings. We did some downtown shopping first (last picture), followed by Atlantis (gold chair picture) and finally wound up at Paradise Beach (most gorgeous beach EVER, btw). I recently washed a bunch of clothes on delicate cycle that said "Hand Wash" on the tag, and learned why you shouldn't do that when halfway through our day I noticed a huge rip in my dress. Not my favorite fashion moment in a ripped dress during the day and a pj shirt at night, but hey... that's life. And I managed to have tons of fun anyway. ;-)

  2. Looks like you had a great time! (even despite the ripped dress). Nassau is actually my favorite vacation spot and I can't wait to go back! The water is just so gorgeous and the people are so friendly.

  6. AHHH! I saw those earrings on pinterest a few weeks ago and I honestly had to have them.  I remembered that you were a stylist for Stella and Dot when I ordered them off the website, so I used your name.  Hope you don't mind.  But anyways, i love those earrings, a little heavy, but they are so awesome.  Enjoy

  13. *Blushing* thank you Jenn! I talk about my fitness story at the link below. I have fallen off the fitness wagon so bad lately so I really appreciate your kind words! http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/09/my-fitness-story.html

  14. You two are so gorgeous!  Looks like you had fun. :)

P.S. I wash all of my hand wash only clothes (and most of my dry clean only clothes, except for suits) in the washer on delicate cycle - the key for me to prevent ripping is to wash them in mesh lingerie/sweater bags.  There are some great ones on Amazon.  I prefer the fine mesh bags with a tight weave.

  15. Awesome tip Alexia! I'm definitely going to get some of those bags, thank you!

  16. I love the emerald earrings!!  Are they thin or thick?  Basically, would you consider them lightweight or are they on the heavier side?

  17. Thanks Faith! They are fairly thin, but I would say a medium weight. Stella & Dot uses semi-precious stones so I think that's why they weigh a bit more. I hardly ever wear earrings but these aren't heavy enough to bother my ears at all.

  25. I just *love* your beautiful jade-green Serenity Stone Drops Earrings!!    Unfortunately, as I've gotten older, my darn EARLOBES simply aren't as "BOUNCY" and "FIRM", i.e., just as a couple of OTHER "areas" on my body have also become, (as I've gotten older)............ LESS bouncy and firm, too, (haha)!!............ so the earrings would probably (*sigh*) just be too heavy for me nowadays.    They'd probably STRETCH-out my (pierced) earholes way-too-much;  or even TEAR my earlobes, you know.    (Incidentally, on your Stella & Dot website, I noticed----in the Zoom-In----that the young model's earholes have stretched a little bit, too, i.e., with her wearing the jade green Serenity Stone Drops Earrings).

Maybe I could contact Stella & Dot's Customer Service with a suggestion to please carry the jade-green Serenity Stone Drops Earrings in not only a 2" length;  but also in............ a (lighter-weight!!) 1" length............ *JUST* for me............ (and the  *O.T.H.E.R.*  millions of Baby Boomer women out there, too, haha)!!

  26. Not loving your outfits these days

    ReplyDelete
  27. You are totally entitled to your opinion. However, I'm confused why you would leave this comment on a day I declared my outfits a total disaster? That was.... the entire point of this post.

  28. Oh Rosanna, you are too funny! I would call these earrings medium weight, they are definitely not lightweight. I would love if they came in other sizes, what a wonderful suggestion. ;-)
