Bahamas Cruise - Day 1

What's up party people? I'm back from a Bahamas cruise with my friend Andi Mans and ready to share tons of pics of what we wore! This is Day 1, which included a short drive to the port (Canaveral), boarding the boat and the first night of dinner. It was freezing and windy in Orlando (okay, 40 degrees, but it sure felt cold). I had planned to wear this tribal dress (from this past post) with bare legs and wedges, but ultimately the weather dictated a need for a heavy sweater coat, navy leggings and boots. That night it was chilly on the boat, which made me thankful I brought a cardigan, but I still felt a little chilled at dinner. Thankfully the weather got better over the next couple days and this was our only cold day at sea! I've never been on a cruise with cold weather before and it felt odd. (Titanic, anyone?) Have you ever cruised in the winter? What is your favorite time of year to go?

  1. Is that a Carnival cruise? I went on one to Mexico (New Orleans is a port city) about a month ago.

  3. Love cruises! We are going on our 3rd Princess Cruise in March. The best thing is getting to see different places but alway sleeping in the same bed! And getting dressed up :) So fun! Cant wait to hear more about your trip!

  6. Love how you were prepared for the weather changes.  I'm looking forward to seeing more.  I am going to the Caibbean for a family reunion in July for 2 weeks and looking for tons on ideas (I always over pack, and don't want to this time).

  7. Looks like a Carnival Cruise. I went on one to the Bahamas a couple of years ago. :) Love the looks. It's great that you were prepared for weather changes. Excited to hear more!

  8. What a great way to transition that dress above from warm to cool weather! I love it with the navy tights! And that ruffle dress is so cute! Love how you added the brown belt to it to make it a little more casual! Hope you had a great time on your cruise! I was on one cruise where it was freezing and rained the whole entire trip! Ugh, not so fun! Now I only go cruising in warm months!

  11. Thank you Emily! What a bummer about your cruise. Thankfully it was only cold the first day but I was worried it was going to be miserable the whole time. Will likely stick to the warmer months from now on too!

  13.  Hi, J.----welcome back!!    I'm so glad that you had only one cold day at sea;  (and NO more either)!!    I *love* both of your outfits, (Above);  and Andi also looks *so pretty* in her navy dress and yellow statement necklace, too!!

In the second photo, (i.e., in which you're wearing your navy dress), I couldn't help but notice the neat pattern and *color combinations* of the carpeting!!    I know that you get your inspiration for your outfits from CLOTHING Designers;  but in your February 2, 2011 post............

............ I think your outfit from then almost looks a little bit like the CARPETING here, which the INTERIOR Designer~~(for the cruise ship Carnival Sensation)~~chose!!    Additionally, just in looking at the #3 photographs, (Above), each of the BACKGROUNDS............ amazingly "complements" the outfits that you & Andi are wearing, ('just sayin', you know)!!

  17. Hubby and I just came back from a cruise in December and I found I had to modify many of the outfits I took because the weather was cooler than I had originally anticipated.  I love how you modified your look in the first picture.  Keep the cruise fashions coming!-)

    Love the outfits.

  22. You are just way too cute!  I just found your blog the other day and I absolutely love your style.  I've been in a total style rut since transitioning from a legal assistant in a law firm to a stay at home mom.  Can you say opposite ends of the style spectrum??  Anyway, I love the ideas I've gotten from browsing through your blog and I have a fresh perspective of what to look for with my birthday money!  Thanks for such a fun blog!

  23. Kim, you are so sweet! Thank you. I can imagine how tough of a fashion transition that must be, but I def think you can still rock some cute looks as a full-time mommy! So glad you like the blog, thanks for stopping by and saying hi! :-)
