Today's Everyday Fashion: The Animal Sweater

Animal sweaters are a cheeky trend that I've been wanting to try, so when I spotted this sweater recently it was love at first sight! This outfit is also part of my third and final challenge with Ross. I competed in three style challenges in December and made a video for each. (I was not asked to post the outfit on my blog as part of the challenge, but just thought it would be fun to share! You can watch the videos and be sure to "like" them while you are there! Video 1Video 2Video 3) Besides the fun animal sweater in today's look, I'm also a huge fan of wearing white jeans during the winter. Paired with knee-high boots and a coat, I think they are totally appropriate and can be a refreshing change from your usual blue jean. Do you wear white jeans in the winter? And are you on board with the animal sweater trend?

  1. What a fun top! I like white in winter too! Jeans might be too light for my cold winters but white or ivory cords are a good option too

  2. I started wearing white jeans in the winter (with flat, camel colored riding boots) after seeing some of your older posts. I've received so many compliments, and I have you to thank, J!

  3. I started wearing white jeans after seeing some of your older posts also. I was afraid of wearing white after Labor day. But you have inspired me yet again! Thanks for sharing! I love this look. Never tried an animal sweater but I might just now… :)

  5. Really and truly, your videos blow everyone else out of the water! Keep up the great work because wonderful things are coming your way -- I know it!

I'm so kicking myself that I didn't buy similar $12 BCBG Maxazria white skinny jeans while in Kansas City over the holiday. Have you heard of the place 1/2 of 1/2 Name Brand Clothing (approx. 87th & I-35)? Not the most luxurious shopping experience but sometimes you can find really high end pieces for a fraction of the price.

  6. I like white jeans in the winter time, especially as it pairs up nicely with camel (which is really in right now for fall/winter.) The animal sweaters, though, I have a hard time going along with just because I feel like it would make me look pre-pubescent (lol), and I have a hard time convincing people I'm an adult, as it is :)

  7. So sweet, thank you Amber! I have heard of that store (I've seen it a milliion times driving up and down I-35!) but I've never been in there. Might have to make a stop next time I'm in KC. :-)

  9. Hehe....animal sweaters now make me think of the episode of Glee where Rachel wants to become a style icon, but Brittany is the only one with the star power to get the followers at her school.

    You look great!

  10. Hey J, I see that you're from Kansas? I just moved to Lawrence this fall (from Michigan). Do you have any advice on Kansas life? Thanks :)

  11. Kate, yes I graduated from KU in 2005! I loved living in Lawrence, although it's been a few years. I still miss Mass Street though (not sure if they still have my favorite store at the time, Britches) and El Mezcal will always be my favorite restaurant. :-)

  12. Oh my gosh, this look is absolutely adorable!  From the animal sweater all the way to the white jeans. This is one of my favorites from you in awhile.  White jeans are definitely okay to wear in the winter months. It's a nice refreshing change from all of the dark colors we tend to gravitate to when it's cold outside.   Heather

  14. I totally do white jeans in winter. Clients are always surprised when I urge them to wear white in winter, I say if you're warm enough white not? lol . As for the animal sweater it's cute on you but it's not for me :-). Love the camel boots.
