Today's Everyday Fashion: Merry Christmas Eve

Last night I attended Christmas Eve service at my church and this is what I wore! (I won't be in town for "real" Christmas Eve, so I had to celebrate a little early.) When I think of holidays, the first two things that pop into my head are the color red and sparkle. I first tossed around the idea of wearing my red blazer, but it was a bit too hot for blazers last night, so I settled on this red pencil skirt instead. I added just a touch of sparkle with the shirt and kept the rest neutral with a gray-ish cardigan and pumps. If I lived in a colder climate, I would have added some gray tights like these from the Limited and a winter coat. Every church is different (when I lived in Boston this would have felt a bit too loud in my more conservative church), but I think this could be a great holiday look for many different occasions. What are you planning to wear on Christmas Eve?

  5. Thank you! I had a fabulous red pencil skirt from H&M, that I somehow stained beyond repair on my second wearing.  I needed to replace it, but haven't had time to do so.  I'm buying one of the express skirts you linked.

  8. Hi J, I love the outfit! I am planning on wearing a great silver skirt I bought at the gap yesterday for under $20. Here is the link. They had a 40% off all sale prices yesterday. Here is a link to the skirt. http://www.gap.com/browse/search.do?searchText=silver+skirt  I think it looks shorter in the picture than it really is in person. I also found a great tweed Chanel looking blazer for $16, nornally $89. The sales person told me they had too many and marked them all down. I may wear the jacket and skirt together with a white tie front blouse underneath. Have a great holiday.

  10. It is so nice to read about fashion advice from a fellow Floridian. This heat is crazy! I love Winter fashion but I always have trouble putting outfits together with our unpredictable temperatures. Love the outfit!

  11. Great outfit - I'm not going to be too festive for Christmas Eve - black pencil skirt, black blazer, and satiny blue shirt with jeweled buttons, then similar jewlery and my black knee high boots.  It will be plenty of cold enough in Ohio for the blazer, lol.

  12. I love this outfit! I am probably going casual to the Christmas Eve service at my grandma's church. Nice jeans, heels, dressy top. I wear pants and suits all week to work, so when I comes to the weekend I just want to wear jeans! :-) Have a Merry Christmas and God bless!

  15. Your  *g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.*  Christmas Eve outfit reminds me so much of those almost glowing, matte-satin-finish RED *globe ornaments* on the Christmas tree, which are............ hanging between the shiny/sparkly SILVER "tinsel icicles"!!    'Really soak up (some extra) love from your family/friends back at home, Jeanette;  and Merry Christmas!!
