Today's Everyday Fashion: More Yellow
That's right folks... I added yet another yellow sweater to my closet. I just couldn't resist. Even though I have lots of mustard pieces in my closet already, almost all my sweaters are v-neck so I found the crewneck refreshing and the buttons down the back a cute detail. I was rushing out the door last week and threw on this yellow/brown/yellow look that was inspired by an old J.Crew picture. My favorite colors and prints this winter are definitely emerald, mustard, plaid and leopard - what are yours?

cute color comobo!
ReplyDeleteI love the monocramatic tones here. Amazing! And I LOVE your hair up and when it's wavy. I know you don't prefer to have it up, but you look beautiful today with it up. Gohhhgeous (in my best British accent)...
ReplyDeleteI love the buttons down the back! That is some nice detail there J! YOu look great in this color, and I'm jealous as I look horrible in mustard yellow. :( My favorite colors this season are teals and purples (Gucci Inspired). I definitely am a fan of leopard too, and always will be. The handbag is gorgeous! xo

I am in love with your sweater! The buttons down the back are a great detail! I am loving leopard this season, something I never thought I would wear!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that color and have been searching for a sweater in that shade - going to LOFT after work today - hope they have one in my size! Thanks much!
ReplyDeleteI love mustard clothing...you can never have enough!

ReplyDeleteAgreed! :-)

Interesting - I don't know many people who would have the courage to wear both a mustard sweater and mustard heels.
ReplyDeleteI gotta be honest, I feel like this outfit is so simple and "safe" - I almost didn't post it!! Got tons of compliments when I wore it.
ReplyDeleteawesome sweater. i didn't even see it or notice it online!

Before I read the caption, I really thought that you were just wearing a button up cardigan on backwards! (Hey, I've seen you wear a top backwards once before!) It just makes you wonder what other tops we all have in our closets just waiting to be worn backwards. Button up dress shirts? V neck sweaters? Only time will tell...
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, I have worn a sweater backwards before! :-) I had several people ask me that when I wore this, but in this case it was actually just designed that way.
ReplyDeleteIf your shoes were, say, solid-color mustard instead............ (i.e., with the uppers and the heels both mustard yellow)............ I wonder IF your yellow/brown/yellow look would've been AS genuinely *striking* as it IS?
ReplyDeleteMaybe part of the reason that you~~(very *d.e.s.e.r.v.e.d.l.y.*!!)~~got TONS of compliments when you wore this outfit, J, is that it almost looks, stylistically, AS IF you............ had your shoes "Specially-Made To Go With" your outfit............ i.e., since, firstly, your *outfit* is mustard yellow and brown; then, secondly, your *shoes*, (with their brown heels)............ are ALSO mustard yellow and brown!!
Mustard yellow suits you! I love that they designed a sweater to look like a cardigan worn backwards. Diana Vreeland would be proud.
ReplyDeleteI love this color combination on you! I've been thinking a lot about mustard & the yellow family, which gave me inspiration for my latest post on Style Darling about gorgeous satin rust heels. I included a link to your site & your mustard color combo post from earlier this month! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow too! The detail on the back of the sweater is so lovely. Welcome the new addition.
