Today's Everyday Fashion: Risk Taker
I like to get dressed up for the airport. Call me crazy, but it's one of the few times in my daily life that I encounter that many people. And I always, without fail, wind up running into someone I know. It can be a business contact, someone who reads my blog, or an ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend (yes, all of those have really happened). So after enough embarrassing moments in a sloppy t-shirt, I have forever vowed to look great when I fly (even on overnight flights to Europe, see here and here). Today I'm going all out though. I'm flying to Atlanta for a friend's wedding (my first bridesmaid experience!) and this is what I'm wearing. Call me a risk-taker but red pants and red shoes seem totally appropriate for the airport, yes? :-) Would you wear this to the airport?

Katee, aw I wish I had time! I won't have a car and the schedule is jam-packed with wedding festivities but thanks for suggesting it.
ReplyDeleteCute! I dont think I would be as adventurous...I would probably swap out the red shoes for a neutral pair, but I like this on you! Have a great time!

I love the outfit, but I'd probably only wear the red shoes if I was going to be able to wear them again on my trip. I'm such a nitpicky packer, things like shoes need to be worn at least twice if they're traveling with me! :)
ReplyDeleteCindie, we are totally on the same wavelength! I'm planning to wear them on the return flight, too.
ReplyDeleteTotally worth the risk! You look great!!
ReplyDeleteI find myself agreeing you again on this. I always believe in dressing up for the airport bc there are so many people in one place. Look good feel good.
ReplyDeletelove those pants, you look adorable!

ReplyDeletei hate see people in pj's and sweats all over the airport although i will admit that back in Sept. when i had a ridiculously early flight i did wear a hoodie and drawstring pants.

I love dressing up for the airport too! (Even though I don't travel often.) I love your gutsy red outfit. The pink blouse gives it a subtle, pretty Valentine vibe.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Although I'd probably wear flats instead, only because I always seem to having connecting flights on opposite ends on the airport!
ReplyDeleteThis is fab girl! I love the combination of red with that mauve-ish colored shirt! Looking great as always and you make the red pants easy to style worn this way. :)

Fabulous! love the red pants and shoes! I also travel a lot for work and usually turn up to the airport looking like a hobo...... and always run into people i know!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of pairing red shoes with red pants, but it looks FAB, J! I feel you with the airport dilemma. It's like you must always look "decent" when travelling lol.

As you know, red's Color Symbolism can be at both (intense love-or-hate) ENDS of the Emotional Spectrum; but since you flew to Atlanta today for a friend's Wedding, you *very stylistically brought* the POSITIVE end of the Emotional Spectrum ............ (i.e., for *Health* ............ for *Love* ............ and for *Good Fortune*!!) ............ right along WITH you, to your friend's Very Special Weekend in Atlanta ............ BY wearing a very flattering, joyous *double-dip of RED*. May Your Friend & Her Husband Have A Lifetime Together Of Health, Love, And Good Fortune ............ (and may your friend keep beautiful/smart/stylish/strong *you*, J, as her friend forever, too)!!
ReplyDeleteEh, not really liking the intensity of this. Maybe just the red shoes. But red pants... whaaaaa!
ReplyDeleteI went to buy those wedges at Express today, but the red was a weird orange-red color. Not at all a deep red like yours! I was so bummed.
ReplyDeleteI love the red jeans! So chic... your version looks great, I like it a lot more than the shorts.
ReplyDeleteI too like to get dressed up for the airport... similar philosophy, I tend to stay pretty low key with life so the airport is like a runway sort of ;) haha.

Sarah, I just got these red shoes so mine should definitely be the same color as the ones in the store!
ReplyDeleteLauren, thank you! I got these pants last Christmas so I've had them for about a year! :-(
