Today's Everyday Fashion: Symmetry

I'm a very chronological thinker and I like things to be symmetrical.  Which is why inspiration photos such as these blow my mathematical mind. It never would have occurred to me to wear a rolled scarf and a necklace together! It may not be perfectly symmetrical, but it sure is cute.

Tell me - are you a symmetry nut like me? Would you wear a rolled scarf and a necklace together?

  1. Love the scarf & necklace combo and your fab mustard and gray color combo!

  2. I've worn a scarf and a necklace before, I like the added complexity. But then I'm usually wearing a plain t-shirt. I'm trying to buy some interesting tops for some variety.

  7. Yes, I've worn a scarf and necklace together before. It works best with a simple necklace like you're wearing :)

  8. J - I need your help!  I follow your blog closely and will be looking through it for inspiration for my new purchases.  I purchased bright yellow, bright orange and fuchsia pencil skirts this past weekend on a whim, now I am scared to style them on my own! I know you have shown things with the yellow and pink, could you give me some summery suggestions for the bright orange skirt? I would SO appreciate it!

  11. I love the color combo of your outfit. The necklace does look really cool under the rolled up scarf!

  12. I love this color combo! Everytime you wear yellow, I keep thinking how I need to get a yellow top! That color is completely absent from my closet. I pretty much wear scarfs and necklaces at the same time quite often, but not often intentionally, mostly because I usually need a scarf in mornings, and then when I want to take it off, I like to have a little flair happening with my outfit. ;)

Jessica, those pencil skirts sound amazing! Where did you get them?  For the orange one, i am loving all the neon colors paired together, as well as citrus colors together. So yellow, emerald green, hot pink, bright cobalt blue would all look amazing. If you want to play it down a little bit, you can always do a white top with a small pop of color like a turquoise necklace, and you can also look for a print with some orange in it to go with the skirt. Hope this helps!

  17. Love this look!! Trying to recreate it, but I'm having some trouble with the scarf...how did you roll it like that? :)

  18. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm doing it right. But I wrapped it around my neck twice and then just tucked the ends underneath. The ends fell out a couple times during the day, but it wasn't too bad. There might be a better way of doing it though - if anyone knows, please feel free to post. :-)
