Today's Everyday Fashion: The Same But Different

I am all about choices lately because today I'm showing you another way you can take an idea (hot pink + black/ivory print + turquoise) and make it work in different ways! On the left we have a fun and funky look for work, and on the right we have a casual outfit that uses the same color combo, but totally flips things around. Try doing this in your own wardrobe - take a color combo you love and use it for work and play. Or use this idea when you see something you want to copy, but need to flip-flop the top and bottom to use what you already have!

ps. Thanks for all the encouragement about my hair yesterday -- you guys really are the best. I still maintain that I look like fuzzhead, so these will be the last couple pics with my au natural hair for awhile. :-)

  5. love both of these looks! And your hair looks gorgeous! Girls like me with thin hair try to make their hair look like yours does here, so bask in the envy we all have for it ;)

  7. I really like both looks!  It is crazy to me that you own a skirt and top that have a similar print. I thought I had a lot of clothes, but I think you've got me beat!

  11. I love both of those outfits, such a great color combo for summer! I'm going shopping this weekend so I am definitely going to H&M to see if they still have that necklace because it's really cute!

(Also, I love your hair wavy, mine is super straight and just gets really limp and greasy in the heat, and I wish it had some texture!)

  16. Ok J, what are you talking about re: your hair??  I loooove it curly!!  And although you live in FL, where my hair seriously turns into a chia pet looking thing, in these pics I don't detect any frizz.  What are your secrets???  We are our own worst critics sometimes; I maintain that you look gorgeous and not like a fuzzhead lol!
Anywho, I am loooving these outfits!!!  Such a great idea, and I love your wardrobe!

  18. Thanks Kari! It stands for Jeanette."Jeanette's Everyday Fashion" was too long so I shortened it to "J" which has been a nickname my whole life! :-)

  19. I agree Lia - we are definitely our own worst critics! I sleep on it wet then put some Loreal Springing Curls in it in the morning.  I think I need different product though!

  36. I am in need of the zebra tank that you are wearing, is it a recent Tj purchase, what is the brand name?

  37. I got the shirt about 2-3 months ago and the tag says "Rumors." I recently saw the same shirt in a Marshall's store in the junior's department. I don't know if they send them to Marshall's maybe if they don't sell at TJ?
