Today's Everyday Fashion: Multiple Choice
I totally forgot I had this shirt. Or rather, I haven't worn it in so long, it kind of faded into the back of my closet. This inspiration photo reminded me so much of it though, I had to pull it out of the back of the closet to replicate this outfit. I went with a standard re-creation in the middle photo - but on the far right I'm showing how you can use what you have to make it work. Do you have a similar shirt, but pants only in a different color? Switch it up. Fashion isn't just a one-answer, it's multiple choice!
What are some of you "make it work" moments? Which color pants do you prefer? I like the outfit in the middle, with the hair on the right. (I can't stand my hair in it's natural, wavy state!)

Both looks are so perfect! I can't even decide which one looks better, so you really nailed this look. I like how your hair is also different in both pictures, too!

Love that shirt! I actually like the 2nd look a little better!
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing this morning...found an out of rotation top this morning and paired it with new shorts. Love both of your looks and hair styles!
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing this morning...found an out of rotation top this morning and paired it with new shorts. Love both of your looks and hair styles!
ReplyDeleteI like the second look better, too. Then again, I'm pretty much obsessed with any outfit you make that involves those Chinese Laundry/Piperlime shoes!
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't know what this crazy talk is about you not liking your hair in its "natural state." It looks great on you, and photographs really well! I also have wavy hair, and am not partial to my waves at all, but I absolutely love yours!
I have to say I like the darker pants in the picture on the right and I love your wavy hair!!
ReplyDeleteD. All of the above :) I like your hair wavy!! It's really pretty!

Are you crazy?!?! You're hair looks fab wavy!! Rock it girl!
ReplyDeleteI like both pants as both pick up colors from the shirt to some extent :-) And I like your hair a lot in it's natural state, even more than the stick straight version, if I may say so!
ReplyDeleteRelatable Style
I like the dark pants better, but I'm a contrast lover.

LOVE the wavy hair in the middle picture!!
ReplyDeleteYour wavy hair is amazing! It's the first thing I noticed. You should wear it that way more regularly!
ReplyDeleteJ!! your hair looks great wavy!! you need to wear it that way more often!
ReplyDeleteI love the look on the right! Something about the navy with that shirt just really sticks out!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Your looks amazing natural!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!

I love your blog! Totally inspirational to me and I find myself thinking what would J do every day as I get dressed!
ReplyDeleteOMG...I LOVE your wavy hair!! I also like the middle outfit better but they both look great!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you had wavy hair and that is why you say you struggle with it. I finally embraced my wavy hair in my 20's and love that I have the option of wavy or straight. The right product makes all the difference! I finally found 3 (that I use all at once - Redken Extreme Anti-Snap treatment first, Tigi S Factor Dream Drops, and lastly Redken Ringlet 07) to make mine work. When I am trying to grow out my hair, wearing it wavy is a great option because I avoid the damage of heat styling. Now that my hair is at my desired length, I wear it wavy after washing one day and then the next day skip the wash, and put in soft curls with a curling iron. I love seeing your hair wavy - and think it looks great! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think your hair looks nice wavy...it's got a nice beachy feel to it! I like the lighter pants and the darker version would make a great seasonal transition outfit..atleast here in Chicago!

I think I don't like your hair wavy with a patterened shirt but I bet it looks awesome with a sleeker outfit.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I love your wavy hair!
ReplyDeleteLove the look with the dark cargos a lot!!! You look awesome either ways! :)

j, i love your hair wavy! i think we have similar hair (in that mine is think, wavy and hard to manage) and i just straighten it all the time because it never comes out as great as yours looks!! rock it!
ReplyDeleteYour hair wavy is sooooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the pants on the right worn the way of the middle; something more tailored to the body worn casually! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd your hair looks great in it's natural state!!! I actually prefer it that way: it's hot!
I prefer the middle look, it seems more effortless. And I love the waves in your hair: very beachy and goes well with the outfit!
ReplyDeleteHi There,
ReplyDeleteFound you via another blogger's side bar.
You have a great blog (obvious from the number of followers!)
Love your multiple take on the same clothing pieces. That has to be very time consuming. I barely have enough energy to put together and take photos of one outfit!
This is a great shirt. I like it paired with the olive green cargos to off set the silky fabric with ruggedness.

Every once in a while when I wait too long to do my laundry, I notice a piece of clothing that I had totally forgot about. I love it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteThank you Daphne! Check out my Q&A for more info, but I usually take a bunch of photos at one time for the blog. I think it saves time! Welcome to the blog though and thanks for stopping by! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicole! Sounds like we have similar hair, I feel like I can never get it straight enough!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren! So glad you like the blog!
ReplyDeleteReally??!! J I absolutely love love your hair wavy!! It's gorgeous!! And I can't choose which pant color, I'm loving both looks! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the middle look - especially the wavy hair! Mine is stick straight and I would LOVE to have natural waves! Your blog is great - I really appreciate how you put together outfits with stuff you already have.
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of your natural wavy hair.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair wavy!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to switch things up. Sometimes my best outfits come from something just a little off from what I was intending to do. Either outfit, J, looks great! I think I am on the hunt for some skinny cargos. They seem so versatile!
ReplyDeletei really like the wave in your hair
ReplyDeletei am drawn to the darker pant i think
i have a shirt very similar to that, me thinks i need to go exploring in my closet to find it. :)

I like the one on the right with the wavy hair...you should do the wavy hair more often!
ReplyDeleteWow, I LOVE your wavy hair!!! Love your blog! I actually don't dread shopping as much as I used to and have picked up invaluable tips from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Marie, glad you like the blog and have found it useful! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour hair is WAY nicer in waves. The ironed out flat look is really dull.
