Today's Everyday Fashion: The Cold Shoulder
Today, I am giving you the cold shoulder. And crossing an item off my fashion to-do list - because this is my first one-sleeve dress! I've always loved this type of dress and have been seeing them in stores a lot lately so I was excited to try this one out (and as an added bonus, it was perfect for re-creating these People.com looks I've had saved forever). What's your take on one-sleeve dresses? Do you love 'em or leave 'em?

This dress really looks gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteI personally would probably skip the one shoulder dress, but since I see you paired the dress with your white blazer, it makes me want to wear my white blazer now!

the pink dress is awesome for summers. nice post

I dig symmetry, so I don't care for one shoulder dresses usually. It looks cute on you though! Love the color.

I love the site...its like Anthro with way better prices! One thing tho...when you try to add something to your cart, it automatically adds like 4 other items, which is really annoying :/
ReplyDeleteLOVE the one shoulder look! I wear it all the time :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I've been on the hunt too for a one-shoulder dress - I love yours!!! Especially with the blazer - very chic!

ABSOLUTELY stunning. i am obsessed!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and white, I wore pale pink and light khaki twice last week and loved it. And I love your shoes. I have never even been tempted to try on a one-shoulder anything. I very conciously decided to sit out this trend, as I do sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI love the one sleeve thing. That pink color is very beautiful!

Love it! and I really like the white blazer! It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just realized we have the same mutual friend...Christina! She is in my connect group and is so much fun! We talk "J's Everyday Fashion" all the time. :)
That's the way I describe it too Sarah - Anthro with lower prices. I'm sure they get that a lot! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it. :-) Chris is my BFF. There are actually tons of pictures of her on the blog - mostly from last spring/summer! Too funny.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! I love the one shoulder look and have tried on a few and I like them but for some reason my hubs just doesn't like the look at all so I never buy them.
ReplyDeleteI love the pale pink and I like it with the blazer (which i bought through your store btw!) but I'm not a huge fan of one-shoulder. I've tried them on and I just don't feel comfortable in them...and confidence is the number one super sexy must-have accessory!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing look!!! It's perfect for the office during the day, then cocktails in the evening! Such a versatile look, I'm in love! Fabulous job as always J!!

Thank you Lia! I was thinking the same thing about office to evening. I would just want the skirt to be 3-4 inches longer with the blazer and it would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you for using my store and I hope you love the blazer! (woo hoo) I totally agree though -confidence is key!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE one sleeve dresses! They are super sexy! I think it takes a specific body type to carry the look well, and you definitely have it. :) The dress highlights the collar bone and shoulders of a woman so well and it is a great date look. I really like how you chose to wear longer necklaces with it as well. Perfect! Love your handbag as well!

I love one sleeved dresses. I always feel very feminine and delicate when I wear one! I have also been looking for a white blazer after accidentally throwing mine out =[ and I absolutely love the one you have!
ReplyDeleteLOVE 'EM! especially on you, so gorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteps. random question, but what do you think about opaque tights? do you think they're tacky?
Thank you Sarra. I love tights, but don't get me started on pantyhose. ;-) In my opinion the key is to pick a color that's not too close to your actual skin color so it doesn't look like "fake skin." Black, navy, something with texture is really cute!
ReplyDeleteLauren - click the link to the blazer. There are about 12 of them up for grabs in all sizes on the website!!
ReplyDeleteI've always been on the fence about one sleeved dresses/tops. This one looks great on you! Now I wonder if I could pull it off, haha
ReplyDeleteLOVE EM! One shoulder is so sexy and chic!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress - one shoulders have really been intriguing me lately so I'd say right now I'm very into them. Blazer also looks great with it!

oh my gosh, I am totally in LOVE with this outfit :)<3
ReplyDeleteI think only certain people can pull this look off and you are one of them!! Love the color too.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I think it would look super cute with silver shoes (or even gold, maybe), too! :) Love the pink!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! I got a cute F21 dress last year that is one-sleeve. It's navy with a gold/navy flower detail. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLeave 'em. I just don't the appeal.
ReplyDeleteI love one shoulder dresses! I need to find more!

cute outfit :) with the blazer on, i can't even tell it's a one shoulder dress because of the awesome jewelry you're wearing. love how you layered the necklaces.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favorite outfit you've ever put together! I'm a huge fan of the dress and the blazer and will definitely be looking for both pieces. They are both incredibly versatile and you could wear them for so many different occasions. Thank you for this post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shannon!
ReplyDeleteI love the one sleeve dress, it shows just the right amount of skin to look classy. I also love the pink with the white blazer!

J! I loooooove how you paried two necklaces together! So genius! One gold and one silver, even better. I am so beside myself right now, I love it so much. :) And this pink one shoulder dress is adorable, I am a huge fan of the one shoulder look, it looks good on my body type, for whatever reason.

:-)
Love this dress both color and style (and what a great price). I love how you styled it, how you layered the 2 necklaces especially. I also loooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee that you chose those nude heels and that nude fancy purse, for it. This would be great for a spring or early summer wedding.
