Today's Everyday Fashion: A Shoe Miracle
Friends, I experienced a shoe miracle this weekend. I have been obsessing over finding the *perfect* pair of cognac wedge sandals for spring/summer. I wanted to spend less than $40, and I wanted the heel to be around 3 inches so that I could wear them all day long and still be comfortable. I scoured the internet but couldn't find the right pair, so I decided to make a trip to DSW on Sunday. And there they were... with a halo around them (j/k), a pair of Guess wedges in my size, and get this, with coupons they were only $20!!! I have enormous feet so between the fact that I found a wedge that actually makes my feet look smaller, and the fact that they were only $20, can only mean one thing. A shoe miracle!! Have you ever experienced a shoe miracle? What's your must-have shoe this spring?

ReplyDeleteLove the shoes! I have to check them out. BTW, I found the Gap cardigan that you have posted a few days ago :)
ReplyDeleteI saw you in the April edition of InStyle Magazine! Congrats!!! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful and springy, makes me happy :)
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Dolce Vita line for Target? They have some great summer shoes!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteVery similar, but those are a different style (straps and wedge are different).
ReplyDeleteI did, they have really cute stuff! My personal preference is to shop for real-leather brand-name shoes and see if I can get them for a lower price like I did with these. They are much more comfy on your feet than man-made materials!
ReplyDeleteI so want to those pants!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you get them recently?
No, sorry, I've had them for more than a year!:-(
ReplyDeleteLOVE them!! And, stop calling your feet enormous and huge...I wear an 11 so how does that make me feel??? lol
ReplyDeleteIt's not about the size of the foot, it's about the ratio to your height. I'm 5'7" and wear a size 10 = way out of proportion. I also have super-skinny ankles which makes my feet look even more gruesome. If I could have foot reduction surgery, I would in a heartbeat. Not kidding!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI so knew your shoe were from DSW. You got to love being a DSW rewards remember
ReplyDeletelove this look....kind of nautical :-) looks amazing
ReplyDeleteWell, if it's any cosolation to you, your feet never look "too big" in your photos...you look PERFECT in every way! I am 6' tall so I suppose my feet fit my body but shoe shopping is THE MOST frustrating part of shopping. I don't like wearing anything with a heel over 2.5 inches (I love being tall but I draw the line at 6'2.5"! lol) so finding stylish shoes is sooooo hard and then the store having them in an 11 is another feat in itself!
ReplyDeleteWell thank you, but I assure you I am in no way perfect, haha. :-) I have a couple friends who wear a size 11 and it baffles my mind that no one makes that size. How could they just not make that size when people need that size? So weird.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I've been looking for the perfect wedges too.Mybe i will go look at DSW this weekend! And yes, i have experienced a shoe miracle when i found at DSW the perfect silver sandals to wear at a wedding when i was a bridesmaid. They were super stylish, comfy (very impo for an outside garden wedding with lots of dancing and standing) and only $19!
ReplyDeletePS: Your blog is awesome :)
Love htis look I wore a very similar look this weekend with some chino pants I purchased at H&M, You got a great deal with those cute shoes where do you find your coupons?
ReplyDeleteAggie, sign up to become a DSW rewards club member - it's totally free and you will get tons of coupons in the mail! I had one for $20, plus I had a reward I earned that was $10, so the shoes were $30 off.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! and what a great deal on the exact shoes you were looking for! I love it when DSW comes through for me!

I LOVE these! I haven't had a shoe miracle, but I did have a top miracle once. I bought a cute flowy top at NY & Co, but the first time I wore it, I got a little snag in it. I was so bummed because I loved the top & had found it on the clearance rack. I happened to be near a mall on a business trip & decided to run in to NY & Co just to see if they might have it (this was 2 weeks later). Lo & behold, there it was! :D
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to find the perfect pair too!! And when I wasn't even looking I found a pair that look identical to the one's your wearing from Target. I love Target for summer shoes because they tend to do cheaper versions of designer looks. I'm so excited to wear them!!
ReplyDeleteOh how I long for discount shoe stores in Canada.. Alas.. They don't really exist..
ReplyDeleteI FINALLY.. after hunting for a while... found some cognac heels. It was really tough because everything out there is open toed or strappy. BUt they came with a price!! 120 bones!!
I also found mine at DSW, can't wait for the weather to warm up to start wearing mine:

I've been looking for pretty much the same pair! Lucky!

Such a fresh and light look, I love the colors together :-)
ReplyDeleteI suffer from bigfoot syndrome too. So much so that I have NO pretty winter shoes to wear. Sandals are fine because my feet can spill over the sides but anything that is enclosed that isn't a sneaker hurts :-(
ReplyDeleteomg urs look even better than the picture on the left!! exaclty wat i've been looking for too!!!!!! gonna go hit my local dsw and see if i get lucky this weekend ;P
ReplyDeleteLove it! Just picked my up at DSW!!! Can't wait to wear them!
ReplyDeletei had a shoe miracle last month! i'd been look for the perfect pair of wedges for summer that could go with anything and were inexpensive. I found them at kohls but they didn't have my size and I was sulking for a few days. Then one day i decided to check back in case there were new shoes that were similar and they had gotten a new shipment of the shoe I loved! They're Lauren Conrad wedges. I had a gift card and kohls cash...my shoes came out to $3.49...now there are 2 other pairs of her shoes I'm lusting after just waiting for more discounts!
ReplyDeleteI bought these same shoes at Steinmart a few weeks back and LOVE them! Although you got a better deal!!!
ReplyDeleteJust saw you in InStyle too, awesome! Great wedges; I have some very similar I picked up in 2009 that are Steve Maddens that I will SERIOUSLY throw myself off a cliff when they wear out. (Well, maybe not.)
ReplyDeleteMy best most amazing shoe find ever - a pair of cherry red patent d'orsay peep-toe Nine West stilettos off a clearance additional % off rack at Belk last summer for $20 (including tax). They were still online for $79!
I love wedges because they're so much easier for me to walk in than regular heels :)
ReplyDeleteJ-just saw you in InStyle! You look great!! Love the shoes too. Totally agree that Shoe Miracles can (and do) happen! P.S. Sometimes after I get a pair of shoes love, I'll leave them out so I can look at them.:) a good pair of shoes can make my day!
ReplyDeletei am SO jealous! i am looking for cognac wedges too and i can't seem to find any i like for less than $50! hmmm, maybe i will have to make the trip to DSW to see if i can be so lucky!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you tie your belt! And the wedges look great :)

ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried out any of the shoe clubs? They are an amazing way to expand your shoe collection with great (designer inspired) styles and awesome prices. Check out my post on how they work (here: http://shoesnjules.onsugar.com/shoe-club-14786873) before heading over to their site (I sum it up for you and think I make it easy to understand how they work).

Juliette, I've looked into shoe clubs but I think they charge too much! I can usually find Steve Maddens or Guess shoes (like these) for less than $30, and some months I don't want to buy shoes at all. I think for someone who doesn't have time to shop, they are a great idea though.
ReplyDeleteHI
ReplyDeleteNICE COMMENTS

Thank you for posting this! I've been looking for the EXACT same type of Spring sandal and have had no luck. After reading this I rushed over to my local DSW and they had a pair in my size. I'm in love and they are so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever make it to DSW but I've been wanting to find a pair of wedges (I'm mainly a flip-flop and boot girl) for $50 or less so I stopped in there tonight. I came home with these same wedges, then looked up the style online and found your blog! I agree they are cute! I paid the full $50 though, but I think it's worth it. I signed up for the coupons for the future! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for cute summer shoes!
I agree! They are totally worth $50! (I would have paid that, shhh don't tell DSW!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteCute blog too! I'm going to follow. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you ARE for the everyday woman who is concerned with fashion on a tight budget. Putting the designer look together and telling us how we can get it cheaper is priceless! I am an avid shoe collector and absolutely love shoes, but my budget doesn't always allow for what, so I wanted to let you know about a site that I stumbled upon that will really help women on a budget by simply adding an inexpensive, never seen before shoe accessory. Check them out at www.shoevogue.com., I think you will agree!
ReplyDeleteThank you, so glad you like the blog! Very cool idea for shoes, thank you for sharing!
