Today's Everyday Fashion: A Touch of Red
In a conservative office, a full-fledged pink and red outfit will just not fly on Valentine's Day. Still want to show your V-day spirit? Go with a pop of red and a fun printed blouse, and keep the rest of your outfit professional. A wink to the holiday of love, without going to far!
Why this works: Do you have a high-waisted skirt like this one? Layering a thick, elastic belt tricks the eye, making the rise of skirt seem lower and creating a defined waist. (ps. In the left photo my belt was down a little lower than it should have been, whoops!) ;-)
On a personal note - what are you guys up to for Valentine's Day?! Would love to hear how you are celebrating!

My hubby and I are going to the Reagan Library tonight! We'll be dining and dancing under Air Force One! I hope it's romantic and elegant.
ReplyDeleteLove the red belt too!
Very nice! Looks sophisticated and fun! I did a similar color palette today mostly because I have not yet made friends with red.
ReplyDeletethis outfit is really sharp and I like that it is not quite so overt about the holiday. I actually like the placement of the belt better in the left photo.

I dig this pop of red!
ReplyDeleteI have a shirt just like this one and I never know what to pair it with for work since it doesn't match any of the black bottoms I have! I never thought to wear it with grey and red! Awesome! A new outfit for next week!
