Today's Everyday Fashion: Do as I Say, Not as I Do

At first glance, my inspiration photo and I look nothing alike. But this photo is 100% responsible for the color combination in today's outfit. I'm not even sure I like her outfit, but I loved the unexpected pop of turquoise, which I brought in with a cardigan. I needed something I could wear to church, but also go sit outside for a soccer game this afternoon, and this color inspiration was the boost I needed to come up with something fun and funky! Today's lesson: think outside the box, and use inspiration photos to come up with your own funky combos!

Occasion: Church and soccer game

Cardigan: Banana Republic, $35

  3. Hi J,

I konw you bought your boots from Bakers, but sometimes they sell different brands, too. Is the brand of the boots " Bakers" or something else? Thanks.

  4. The brand is Bakers and the style name is Tate. If they don' t have your size then Chinese Laundry makes an identical pair you can buy at Piperlime.com!

  6. Love your watch- I've been wanting this watch for a couple of years and I'm finally going to buy it. Just wondering - is yours the men's or the women's? I tried on the men's version and love it!

  7. J, I love this outfit (one of my all time favorites) it's cute and casual- just the way I like to dress! Your outfit is WAY better than Mary Kate or Ashley? Her shoes are fug and her clother are 4 sizes too big, but I love your boots and your fit is perfect! I have a simular pair of boots and turquoise is my favorite color!!! I will have to copy this look, thanks for the inspiration. I'm sure you will be the most stylish soccer wife ;-)

  8. Your outfit looks amazing... I agree, I dont really care for the outfit that inspired yours, however the colors are great. You have an eye for seeing something great in an otherwise less than attractive outfit.

  12. Khatu, here's a link to a closer look at her shoes. I love turquoise pumps, but the whole sneaker/gladiator thing Balenciaga has going on is a bit much for me! http://skulkwords.wordpress.com/2010/08/16/balenciaga-shoes/
