Today's Everyday Fashion: The Vintage Scarf
What does a fashionista wear to a business lunch? This is my answer right here. :-) Technically, I'm wearing a plain sweater over a white collared shirt, which has been done a million times over. But the fit and textures and little touches are what truly make this outfit tres chic!
Why this works: The key to this outfit is the white collared shirt. A regular, stiff collared shirt wouldn't look quite right with the tails hanging down this low. But this particular H&M shirt is super-sheer and thin, which looks great paired with heavy wool pants (a silk shirt would also have the same effect).
Occasion: Business lunch
Photo left: InStyle magazine
Sweater: Gap, $20
Shirt: H&M, $13
Pants: Gap, $15
Brooch: Banana Republic, $15
Shoes: Endless.com/Restricted, $39
Purse: Juicy Couture
Watch: Michael Kors
Scarf: c/o The Vintage Scarf, $19.99
One of my favorite details in today's outfit is this scarf from The Vintage Scarf! If you are looking for authentic, one-of-a-kind vintage scarves for under $20 then you should definitely check them out. I'm looking forward to wearing my silk square knotted around my neck and as a shirt in the summer!

I love the cropped pants with the pumps! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love today's outfit!! Scarves are one of my favorite accessories. I have a little collection and love tying them around my neck like Grace Kelly or tying them to my purses. You look so chic!

I am surprised to see how inexpensive the vintage scarf is, its beautiful! I also recently purchased a couple of GAP sweaters and cant get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage Chanel scarf that I found in a thrift shop for $5 (I KNOW!!) that I have no idea how to wear...but this is a good one! I may have to try it :-)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this look, but can you believe it--I don't even own a white blouse! Looks like I have to shope for a staple to add to my closet.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some places you get some of your clothes? I saw some shoes you got from urbannog.com which is a really cute site. Are there any others?
ReplyDeleteI list where every item is from underneath the photo - so for example, today's shoes came from Endless.com, which is probably my favorite shoe website. You can also check out my huge guide to online shopping here:

Samantha, every girl should definitely own a white collared shirt so I would def recommend picking one up! :-) I would say it's one of those items you should pick up on the fly though - everyone sells them, so I just wait to find one on sale, rather than hunting for it specifically.
ReplyDeleteI love this...you look so pretty!

ReplyDeleteNice job Jeanette! glad the opportunity worked out for you!
ReplyDeleteTeri, I got the watch for Christmas. My husbands family all pitched in and that was my one present this year. :-) I believe they got it at Macy's, but if you Google the style name, you can usually find someone selling it for around $175.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula! The scarf is beautiful in person, thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! The watch is amazing, and your vintage blue scarf looks great on your bag!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite looks of yours. It is very European chic, and it can work for both Uptown and Downtown. For someome traveling to a big European city, this outfit would be a great one to pack, for sure. It is so chic, polished, relaxed, classy, classic and casual at once. Plus it has enough sass and color, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ada, this is one of my favorites too!
