Change up your winter coat!

Two simple changes and my favorite winter coat looks completely different! Here's how I did it:

1.  Removed the self-tie belt and added a brown leather belt.
2. Attached a faux fur collar using large safety pins.

Coat: Banana Republic, $130 (on sale, two winters ago)
Faux fur collar: H&M, $15 (recent)
Belt: American Eagle/Filene's Basement, $5
Jeans: Hudson/Filene's Basement, $70
Shoes: Restricted/Endless.com, $38

  1. Great look! I like how you went from fall to winter so easily.

  2. J, I love all of your outfits, especially your shoes! My problem is that I'm a teacher that has also had a bunion removed back in '05, so I can't wear the tallest of tall shoes all day long because I'm always on my feet or walking long hallways. Do you have some shorter healed shoe finds that you could blog about? Thanks! (love the faux fur!)

  3. J. I love the coat

  4. Thank you Cee!

Jessica, please check out this Facebook album with 200 outfits. I wear shorter heels and flats quite often!

  5. great idea.

  6. How creative!! I never thought about changing my coat up :)

  7. Love the look with the brown leather belt and faux fur. Great update to an older piece!

  8. Lovely! The belt really makes the coat now!

  9. LOVE the idea!! Looks like a completely different coat.

  10. you look great! another blogger recently posted about that H&M faux fur piece and I have been meaning to go pick it up. Thanks for reminding me! hehe!

  11. Cool idea! I wish we could order from H&M. There isn't one in TX and I don't get to a place that has one very often. =(

  12. Thanks everyone!!

Gurminder, here is a great option from QVC that you can order online for $29!:

  13. I love this idea J. I fond your blog via weardrobe and love looking through you practical and yet stylish photos there for great inspiration. Coming to your blog and getting to see the photos in greater detail was even more fun.

I would love for us to stay in touch if you would not mind. We can use google, bloglovin, twitter whatever you like.

    Please let me know.
