Today's Everyday Fashion: Printed Shorts

I loved printed shorts last summer and this summer I think I love them even more! I prefer to pair a slim fitting bottom like skinny jeans or today's shorts with a much looser top, so I'm showing you two versions. One is neutral and slightly more dressed up with a lilac lace top (see it with a pencil skirt here), and the amped up version is paired with a neon tee and colorful sandals. I would wear both for errands on a casual day when the temperature is hot. Would you wear printed shorts?

  2. I like the idea of a printed short, but I think I'd prefer them to be in like a chino fabric/style so they fit just a bit longer/looser. I think they'd be fun for summer!

  3. Well I bought some last summer, in Banana. I just bought a blouse today on impulse and it's the same colour as you are wearing today... I now think it will go great with last years shorts!

  4. I saw those shorts in your instahaul earlier and commented on how much I love them! I also really like the Quiksilver shorts too which are pretty similar.

  6. If I could get away with wearing shorts to work, I'd be all over the Lilly Pulitzer ones and the ones from F21. Sadly, I think wearing them, even dressier versions, would be too much for school and I can't warrant spending good money on casual attire. So I just covet from a distance.

  8. Most of these ones are a bit young for me, but I do like the F21 blue ones in the third row - those are cute. Probably too short for me, but cute nonetheless. I do own a pair of printed shorts and I like them, but I don't get a whole lot of use out of them because it's too casual for work.

  10. First, LOVE your blog. So many great ideas. Wanted to add a pair a shorts that I have been loving this year from JCP. Not the usual place that I shop but the Joe Fresh line is adorable. http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/women/brands/view-all-brands/joe-fresh%25e2%2584%25a2-print-canvas-shorts-/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002490834&catId=cat1002360017&deptId=cat1002360005&dimCombo=null&dimComboVal=null

  13. The more casual top works. The dressy blouse just competes with the shorts.

  14. I just love both versions of your outfits, particularly how your neon-pink tee flatters and brightens your *beautiful* skin tone and complexion!! In your more "neutral" version............ (against the pale lavender of your lovely Lace Placket Blouse; and you honestly look *gorgeous* in either brights OR pastels, J.!!)............ the cognac
brown leather strap of your crossbody bag............ and your vibrant purple-and-orange feather necklaces, (with an *electric blue* rhinestones chain!!)............ also help to brighten your skin tone and complexion!!

Maybe (??) an additional way to get the same "brightening" effect might be to wear a pair of bright, "LACY" turquoise-blue earrings............ (i.e., to complement the LACE
placket of your blouse, and also the pale turquoise-blue in your shorts, too!!)............ such as either your Stella & Dot turquoise-and-green-jade Azure Couture Earrings:

  17. Love these shorts so much! I've been hearing so many great things about the "new" JcP, I'm going to have to check it out soon!

  18. I would definitely wear printed shorts IF I had fabulous legs like yours! Lol!! One can dream :::sigh:::
As for the outfits I prefer the the pink top and bright sandals. The other one is cute but the pink top is way cuter.

  19. I hope you don't take offense to my comment but I think wearing short shorts after a certain age is a no no. I really like your style but this outfit is a little too teenage for someone our age.

  20. Asia, I think comments like these are extremely rude! It's rude to assume you know how old someone is, and it is rude to tell someone else what they should or shouldn't be wearing! I also think age is just a number. If you've got the body, you should definitely feel no shame in wearing shorts like these. I present you with Heidi Klum, 10+ years older than me, she has had four kids and looks fabulous in shorts this length. I say GO GIRL!! http://www.babble.com/celebrity/heidi-klum-proves-again-that-you-can-look-great-after-4-kids-photos-celebrity-mom-style/
