Last night I was headed to the CFL Lady Bloggers meet up and snapped these photos on my way out the door. I was running late (as usual) so I started trying on dresses from last year including this emerald number. I wore it with turquoise and yellow last summer, so I went for a different vibe by adding my favorite anchor necklace, nautical belt and blue bow shoes. Would you wear emerald + nautical together? What style of emerald dress is your favorite?
Dress: Nordstrom Rack, $22 last year
Belt: Limited, $20
Anchor necklace: Serenity Blue, $35 (similar)
Shoes: Tailor & Stylist c/o, $45
Rings: My Stella & Dot 1Bracelets: My Stella & Dot 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
ASOS / Amazon / Nordstrom / Jessica Simpson ASOS / Target / Nordstrom / Charlotte Russe / Piperlime Forever 21 / Target / Lands' End |
I want every one of those dresses.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I would love to see it paired with white or red heels!
ReplyDeleteI would do Nautical with the Target dress.
ReplyDeleteLove emerald green! Not sure I would pair it with nautical, but I'm not really a nautical kinda girl. I have a silly question. I've been following you for about a year and for the life of me cannot figure out what "c/o" means when you list something. Example: Shoes: Tailor & Stylist c/o, $45
ReplyDeleteI love this color!! Blue and green have been my favorite pairing so far this spring!!
ReplyDeleteI love nautical prints like the anchors! I think it looks great with emerald, navy, red , and white.

Hi J! Your blog is part of my daily morning routine! Was wondering if you might do a post on bathing suit options this season? Love the page!
ReplyDeleteLoving this look. The dress is gorgeous and those heels are so pretty. MY favorite dress is the first one from ASOS.

It means Care of. ... I think
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Those shoes are stunning...
ReplyDeleteThat shade of green looks so pretty on you. Adorable as usual!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea, thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is courtesy of...like she was given the shoes by a particular company.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, don't be afraid to ask if you see something and have questions!! :-) The c/o means "courtesy of" and was provided by the company. See my Disclosure tab for a full explanation, hope this helps!! http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/p/js-comment-policy.html
ReplyDeleteThis color would look great on you Kerry!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! GREEN!!! I must stock up now! Thanks for all the links, J! You are a goddess! And yes, I'd wear emerald and nautical - such a fresh take on a traditional look. Here's my take on keeping nautical modern: http://myclosetcatalogue.com/2013/03/29/week-6-of-navy-tangerine-and-nautical-niftiness/
ReplyDeleteI have a green dress that has been sitting in my closet, I need to bring that out. You just inspired me. The green looks great with the polka dotted heels!

The shoes don't really match, I would go with a nude shoe or a bright blue or orange for contrast.
ReplyDeleteVery cute dress! Gotta love emerald pieces!

I think the emerald and nautical colors go super well together! Emerald is one of those colors that is so versatile it goes with pretty much anything, it seems. Love the Asos fit & flare!
ReplyDeleteI love your green dress!

Gorgeous color - my favorite! I don't have much nautical in my closet or jewelry box. Not sure why since I'm intrigued by sailing and love the water! I'm wearing an emerald skirt today paired with a navy top. Fun combo. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking cute as always! I would call this a Kelly green, though. Emerald is darker.
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a brilliant colour combination.

Hey J, I am wanting to order a dress from Asos and it is my first time, do you have any idea if they run big or small? I am between and 2 and a 4 but 4 usually runs big, and a 2 usually fits perfect
ReplyDeleteJ-
ReplyDeleteI would wear emerald green with nautical accents for sure. As for style- of the ones you pictured I would probably pick the high-low maxi. I tend to be cold everywhere I go so I'm a huge fan of maxi dresses for the warmth. The high-low hemline lets me still stay with a maxi but adds some "freshness" to it.
Thanks, Jessica
J- if you ever decide to get rid of that belt can I please please have it? :)

I've only ordered from ASOS once, but they are European so the sizes tend to run 2-3 sizes small. So if the tag says US size 8, it is actually a US size 2 or 4. I would refer to the size charts on the website too, to help you decide!
ReplyDeleteYes ma'm! They still have it and it's only $10 on the website right now! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat you wear at h&m you will wear at ASOS!
ReplyDeleteI need those heels in my closet ASAP!!! But are they comfy and do they run true to size?

I love emerald paired with nautical looks! Emerald and navy always look great together! I'm thinking emerald skinnies and a navy+white striped T!
ReplyDeleteI'm beyond obsessed with ASOS, period.

You look great in green! Love how you styled the dress!

I don't think I'd ever wear emerald or kelly green. Seems a bit scary for my skin. Maybe I'll try it in a fitting room some day...your blog inspires braveness...lol. I would have like to see stronger navy accessories to tie those awesome heels in to the outfit better. But you always look great! I like #3 from Nordstrom, but I doubt I'd be brave enough to wear it.
ReplyDeleteYour shoes are on sale today on zulily. I didn't know they also come in black. So cute.
