Today's Everyday Fashion: Anchors Aweigh

It's no surprise that a follow-up to my last nautical post includes an anchor tee! White jeans were an obvious pairing, but I wanted to play with the level of dressiness - from a navy boucle jacket and flirty heels, to t-strap sandals for running errands. Today's navy t-straps will be a huge staple for me this summer, but I also want to add a neon pair to my closet soon, so I shared my shopping picks with you below. (I'm stalking the Tommy Hilfiger pair.) Which version of today's look is your favorite?

Navy jacket: Zara, $95 (similarsimilar)
Tank: Skip N' Whistle c/o, $29
Jeans: Gap, $35 (similar, similar)
Heels: Tailor and Stylist c/o, $45
Flats: Dolce Vita c/o Neiman Marcus Last Call, $63 (cheaper)
Purse: Page 6 Boutique c/o (similar, similar)
Rings: My Stella & Dot 1, 2
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot 1, 2, 3, 4

ps. I'm hosting Gainesville Fashion Week this Saturday (tomorrow) night. If you are in Central Florida be sure to come out and say hello!!

  1. Loved it all...til the shoes...a cute plain leather sandal would be so sleek and casual. The matchy matchy color with the heels doesn't have the same effortless quality that just a pair of sandals or loafers even might have. But love the tank and jacket and jeans.

  8. I love the outfit. Definitely something I could see myself wearing. Every girl needs white skinnies with a nautical top.

Thanks for posting sandals! I have been looking around for a new pair and all of these are great choices. I am loving the Sperry's and the American Eagles

  12. I. Love. Your. Heels. Who knew I could be a bows and cuteness gal? As for the sandals? I have yet to embrace this look since I'm so vertically challenged but I do have a hankering for the Hilfiger ones as well.

  17. This outfit is a hit for me! My son's name Anchor, named after his Danish great great grandfather. I totally need that shirt.

  18. Super cute except for those heels. Little too much frill for such a classic outfit. Simple leather sandals would work much better.

  25. I like the outfit except the shoes - both pairs. The heels are really dated and don't fit with the look. The sandals would work except the ankle straps compete with the jeans too much. I love the shirt, jeans and jacket combo though.

  26. I think I like the first outfit the best, but they all look good except the shoes! Dislike both pairs :(

  27. I love your indigo-and-white Nautical Anchor Tank Top!! Anchors, as you know, are a symbol of **Hope**~~(and a cross signifies Faith, while a heart represents Love in the Faith/Hope/Love triad)~~which, symbolically, is then the reason why anchors............ **MEAN SO MUCH** to me!!

By the way, in your last nautical post of March 22, 2013, is the logo on your gorgeous blue (enameled?) pendant also an anchor, J.?? (I can't *q.u.i.t.e.* make it out, you know!!)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I bought it in January on clearance and was never able to locate it online!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thank you Rosanna! You are correct - that pendant is an anchor as well!

  30. Love that anchor tank! Nautical looks are so fun for spring/summer!
I love both pairs of the sandals you're wearing. Those bow sandals are so sweet!!

  32. Thanks Renee! It's actually "aweigh"! I'm a total nerd and loved learning about it if you want to read more: http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/anchors-aweigh.html

  33. Obsessed with everything nautical at the moment!! I like the first version a bit better... I'm a sucker for all things navy and white, plus the bow makes it extra sweet!

  34. I'm obsessed with all things nautical! I like the first version a little better... you can't go wrong with navy and white, plus the bows make them even sweeter!
