Today's Everyday Fashion: Lilac Lace

I bought this shirt imagining that I would wear it in a boho look with distressed denim and ankle boots. Instead I went for decidedly feminine first, with girlie bow shoes and more pastels. I love both necklaces and couldn't pick a favorite so I'm sharing both, plus for a limited time all bubble necklaces at Ily Couture are only $16 (original price $49) when you claim the offer posted on my Facebook page (look for the image below). Which necklace is your favorite? How would you wear this top?

Facebook

Top: Ann Taylor, $30
Skirt: LOFT, $55
Shoes: Lauren Conrad c/o Kohl's gc, $28
Left necklace: Ily Couture c/o (redeem the offer on my Facebook page to get any bubble necklace for $16)
Right necklace: My Stella & Dot, $114
Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot 1, 2, 3

  1. Love this! My first idea would definitively be boho with this top as well, but I love it with the mint skirt. Very pretty color combo and I love it with the pink bubble necklace!

  2. I really like that you decided to wear the top with a more feminine take.  The color combo is beautiful!  I like bubble necklaces, but think the second necklace looks better with the top.  It doesn't take away from the pretty detailing on the front.  Heather

  5. I like the second look better - the shirt has all those pretty details and I don't think it needs a bubble necklace.  Cute skirt too!

  6. Love the muted mint color of your skirt, rather than acid mint. I actually like the second look, with the shorter necklace better. It lets the pretty detailing on the blouse do some talking.

  7. Ordered 2 of the bubble necklaces with matching earrings today for my wedding! One for me and one for my maid of honor! I ordered both turquoise ones and I hope it looks fab with her coral dress! I know it will look fantastic with my white dress. Thanks for teaming up for such a great offer!

  8. I love the second look with the brown necklace. It matches your shoes and doesn't cover the design of your pretty top.

  9. Thanks for the sale offer. I just ordered the sunburst bubble necklace and I am so excited! It's going to be great for summer!! Do you have any suggestions of patterned tops to wear for someone who is larger chested? I wear a great deal of horizontal stripes but I am looking for something new to add to my collection! Thanks!

  13. Oh my. I love all the pieces in this look. I was wanting some mint jeans in the worst way but now I have to add mint skirt. I love the lace ones you pictured also. This would be a perfect Easter outfit, BTW.

  22. Is your necklace the soft pink or the bubble gum pink?  I love the one you're wearing in your pictures but the soft pink on their website looks a lot lighter!  Thanks so much for the sale offer and I love your blog!

  23. Should be the same one I link to - the soft pink! :-)

  29. I like the way the second necklace looks a little better. Pairing it with distressed denim for a boho vibe sounds like a nice option. I'm pretty much in love with every mint skirt on the bottom row of your choices. :)

  32.  Definitely prefer the second necklace with the look as the pink necklace seems too large for such a delicate looking outfit.  Love the promotion on bubble necklaces, J.  I have been admiring yours for quite some time.  Such a stylish way to jazz up a more simple outfit!

  33. I just love the combination of your seafoam green skirt with your new lavender Lace Placket Blouse:  *soft*............ *Spring -like*............ *g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.*!!    With each individual necklace, I can actually envision your outfit being worn to DIFFERENT functions............ e.g., wearing your pink necklace, say, to a friend's Wedding Shower;  or out on a dinner date............ and wearing your golden Jacqueline Necklace, say, to church;  or to a business lunch!!

Another necklace idea that might be  r.e.a.l.l.y.  pretty is wearing your Translucent Spearmint Rose Brooch~~(with it's #5 enameled blue-and-white buds and green leaves)~~as a  n.e.c.k.l.a.c.e. ............ i.e., as in your blogpost of May 20,
2011, i.e., "6 Clothing Items You Can Repurpose Now."    The *colors* of your lovely brooch look like they might (?) be perfect with your pastel outfit;  plus, the particular *design* of your brooch might not only beautifully complement the  s.c.a.l.l.o.p.e.d.  lace placket of your lavender blouse, but also your blouse's  s.h.i.r.r.e.d.  split neckline, too!!    This link, directly Below, is a close-up of your brooch............ (then just click image to Enlarge!!)............ from your October 14, 2010, blogpost:  "A peek inside my jewelry box...":

  36. Love the collection of mint skirts! Especially the Calvin Klein, Anthropologie, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters skirts. Calvin Klein was the "first favorite" because it's sequined (or otherwise glittery), but I love the peplum on the Anthropologie skirt. The lace on the Forever 21 skirt (and the fact that I assume it's the lowest priced skirt) makes it great, but the Urban Outfitters skirt also holds a place in my heart, because for some reason I can never find a good pleated skirt like that, so whenever I see one, I fall in love with it!

Anyway, great post! Great skirts! Awesome color, too! ♥

  38. My opinion is the gold necklace looks best with the neckline of the shirt vs. the longer one. Plus i like the metallic addition to the colors vs. adding another color with the bubble necklace. :)
