Today's Everyday Fashion: Pink Bubbles

I wore this yesterday for lunch and errands. I like combining polka dot tops with bubble necklaces, because the shapes are similar without being too symmetrical. My pink bubble necklace looked best with this top (I own light pink, turquoise, yellow and burgundy), and so pink jeans were an easy match. I originally threw on nude pumps, but the black ones are more comfortable and have a slightly lower heel so I went for those for practicality sake. Which shoes do you like better?

Shirt: Windsor Store c/o, $26
Jeans: Target, $22
Purse: Michael Kors, Santa
Necklace: Ily Couture c/o
Nude pumps: Enzo Angiolini/Piperlime, $32
Black pumps: Chinese Laundry c/o (same)
Earrings: My Stella & Dot, $34
Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Rings: My Stella & Dot 1, 2, 3
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot 1, 2, 3, 4

Also... I stopped in Target yesterday for household supplies and got completely distracted by all the cute clothes in their spring collection. Hands down my favorite piece is the Blue Willow printed skirt (top left). I also bought the other two pieces I tried on, but not sure if I'm keeping them yet. The pink tweed is adorable in person but doesn't look great in pictures. I wish they had more things in my size so I could have tried all of them on, but these are the pieces I was drooling over. Which one is your favorite?

  1. Love the mint top! You should get it before they run out of your size. I totally talk about here: http://myclosetcatalogue.com/2013/03/04/week-3-of-harrowing-trips-and-minty-goodness/

I think I'm also in love with that blue skirt but I have so many skirts that perhaps I'll pass and admire from afar.

Btw, you are one of my fashion heroines and I hope you don't mind my linking to you and perhaps referencing your looks from time to time.

  16. I can totally recreate this outfit! Yea!! I love my pale pink skinnies and bubble necklace together and you styled it gorgeous with the polka dot top. As for the shoes, that's a tough one but I think I like the contrast of the black against the lighter pants. Wow! I need to head into Target!! I love everything. And I mean everything!!

  17. Loove that floral blouse.. but probably because I have something very similar from F21. I also love that color block dress... I bet it would look amazing on you in yellow. Not sure if I can pull it off.

Is your purse the exact same one you linked to? With the textured "tortuga" leather? Just curious because I can't quite tell from your pictures.

  25. I prefer the look of the nude pumps, but I'm all about practicality! Also, that floral button-up is interesting, but I might have to go make a run to target to get the polka dot one! I have no polka dots, and I desperately want some in my wardrobe. :-) Thanks always for the inspiration.

  26. I totally bought that mint polka dot shirt from Target. I LOVE IT!!!

I really like the floral top you tried on. Not sure if I could pull it off, but it's super cute.

Just recently bought my first pair of nude pumps (can you believe it)? I need to start wearing them more often and learn what to pair them with!

  27. The black shoes are speaking to me, but it's sort of chilly out today. If it were warmer, I probably would pick the nude! Either way, very cute outfit! The Target things are so cute - esp. the ruffly chartreuse or yellow (can't tell on my computer) dress. I agree about the blue willow skirt - awesome! I'm glad you got it - my butt is way too big to wear patterns as bottoms, but I love the look!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Omg, I LOVE this outfit! What size did you get in the target jeans? I normally wear a 25, but I'm not sure what that translates to for junior sizes??

    ReplyDelete
  29. Love the top - does it fit true to size?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I got the size S in the top - and would say because of the elastic waistband it's comparable to a size 0 in tops at stores like Express. Plenty of room up top though.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't remember the exact size but I know I went 1-2 sizes up from my usual juniors size. I'm usually 0/2 in misses, 1/3 in juniors.

    ReplyDelete
  32.  Thanks! I normally wear a larger medium or smaller large (if that makes sense). So you think a M might work fine?

    ReplyDelete
  33. New followerer here! Thanks so much for the inspiration! I'm in for a spring overall shopping spree tomorrow and I need all the help I can get!

  34. It's almost the waist size that is the biggest factor - up top it definitely sounds like you would be a M, there's plenty of room in that part of the shirt!

  37. Black shoes was a good choice! I got the leopard peplum top from Target and love it!

  38. I definitely like the black shoes best.  I think the nude ones would work better without the black purse.  Cute look!

  39. Love the outfit...especially with the black pumps!  Totally agree about Target, one of their best collections in a long time!

  41. Looooooove this outfit!!! :D So effortlessly chic :) Love the pale pink color of the jeans :) Polka dots, pale pink necklase - everything looks adorable :) I think I like black shoes a tad better, maybe b/c of the black purse...
I also love Blue Willow skirt, really nice print! Two other skirts are cute, too, I would love to finaly buy myself polka dot skirt... I also love the yellow dress and the one next to it on the right(yellow-gray-black). But all of the pieces you posted are really nice!

  42. I love this outfit - I have a similar top, turquoise skinnies and a long turquoise statement necklace - might be putting that together soon!

I love the black shoes best!

  43. Great outfit... The mixing of dots with the bubble necklace is so cute! I like it with the black shoes better; the cap toe trend is one of my favorites. My favorite pieces you showed were the peplum top and the top you tried on.

  49. Hi there...love Target and just recently stocked up. I just got the navy with white polka dots myself and almost grabbed the Blue Willow...except I wish the blue on that one was more vibrant and not dull/periwinkle blue. I ended up puttig it back since I felt like I would have a hard time matching it up. Kinda gave off a purpleish tint. What did you think? I did however get the pink lace one...I think you would LOVE it!!!

  58. Love your look!  Both pairs of shoes are great, but I prefer the black.

That blue print skirt is adorable on you.

I can totally see you in the neon yellow Prabal Gurung ruffle dress.  I loved it, but it did not work for me.  I think it would look great on your figure.   Plus, with your complexion, you'd look amazing in that color!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I love the floral button-up from Target! I got it a month or so ago and am obsessed. It could be paired with SO many different options because of the color palette. I definitely recommend keeping it!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I love your OOTD! I can't decide whether I like the nude pumps or black pumps better!
Also, I LOVE Prabal Gerung's new collection for Target.
The neon yellow ruffled dress, the gray and yellow geometric dress, and the button downs are my faves. :)

  62. This outfit is so *fresh* and *Springlike*............ 'just beautiful!!    I particularly like how you "balanced"----(i.e., if that's the correct term?)----your Soft Pink Statement Necklace with  #1) Your rutilated-gold glass Serenity  S.m.a.l.l.  Stone Drops;  and also with  #2) Your lip/cheek colors, too!!    Without your (just right!!) small drop earrings and lip/cheek colors, your outfit would still be beautiful............ but WITH *The Sparkle* of your small drop earrings and *The Soft Colors* of your lip/cheek makeup, both your outfit............ and you............ are even  *more*  beautiful!!

Although it's hard to tell (with definity) on the Ily Couture website, but are the smaller beads on your Soft Pink Statement Necklace, J. ............ a pale lavender??    In your blogpost of January 8, 2013;  "Today's Everyday Fashion: Pastel":

    http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2013/01/everyday-affordable-fashion.html#.UTq5TypeJ-Q.email

............ the smaller beads of your Soft Pink Statement Necklace look like they might (?) be a pale lavender instead.    IF the smaller, secondary beads *are* indeed pale lavender, that probably then also opens up............ all kinds of Spring & Summer "Brights" styling options FOR your pink bubble necklace, too!!

  64. I absolutely adore this look. I am fairly new to this board, found you on pinterest. THANK you for what you do. I have already borrowed a few looks from you. I have a shirt just like this polka dot one except mine is tan with white polka dots. NOW thanks to you, I am going to pair it with a yellow bubble necklace I just got on ebay for $7.99 and some white jeans (next on my list to purchase), and nude wedges (TJ Maxx). I haven't been this excited about fashion in years. Thanks again.

  72. Love the pink & polka dot outfit! The necklace is great - I actually have the same one in yellow that I wear all the time. Had a question for your though- have you ever had an issue with online ordering (from sites like Ily Couture where you got the necklace), and if so, how did you handle it? I ask because I recently ordered a coat through them, and was extremely disappointed in both the quality and the customer service response when I contacted them about it. I normally wear a size small/2-4, but ordered a medium so that I could put some layers underneath. When it arrived, I literally couldn't even zip it with just a thin tank on, because of how tiny it was! I emailed their customer service department and was told that there was nothing they can do. I'm bummed, because I love the style, and really like the other things that I've purchased from them, but I don't think I can justify ever shopping with them again. Have you ever had to deal with that before? Just curious! BTW- absolutely love your blog!  I've been following since the beginning! :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jillian, was the coat final sale? That seems strange to me. (Have you tried putting it up on eBay?) I haven't had that experience with Ily or any of the other boutiques I work with. I've had a couple bad experiences with boutiques but I just don't work with them, and wouldn't feel comfy naming them publicly. Sorry to hear about this though!!

  74. Love the total outfit but the pale pink pants are in JR.  Would you have a same link for larger women?

  77. I LOVE the blue willow skirt from Target too! Definitely my favorite piece in their spring collection. I included it in a post about florals for spring in my blog here: http://courtneytye.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/top-5-floral-prints-on-a-budget/
