Today's Everyday Fashion: Bright Blazers

Inspiration: Refinery29

Wearing this much black is totally out of my comfort zone, however, when I saw this outfit I thought - what a clever way to wear a bright blazer! And if you are someone who wants to start wearing more color, I think this could be a great first step. It really is as simple as wearing all neutrals with a colorful jacket or blazer over it. What color blazer would you choose to wear with all-black?

  4. This coral shade looks great with black, I would also wear fuchsia, or any shade of pink as a matter of fact... :) I think purple would also look nice :)

  6. I have several colored blazers and I love them.  It's a toss up between my bright pink, cobalt blue or mustard yellow.  They are more versatile than I ever imagined.  I love yours paired with all black!  Heather

  18. I definitely think an all black base is perfect for incorporating color.  I'd go for some plain jane colors- like mustard, or those warmer tones, to really play up your skin tone.  At first you may look in the mirror, thinking you are washed out, but with some really stand out jewelry, you, J, can pull it off!

  21. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from multiple colors and just rely on one piece to really brighten up an outfit. I think I would wear red, blue, really whatever - black is great in that it tends to match up with pretty much anything!

    Love this!

  23. This is basically what I wear every single day - an all neutral base with a pop of color from a cardigan or scarf, and cute shoes. No wonder I love your outfit so much!! I tend to feel bad about my style because colors and color blocking are so trendy right now...but seeing this look on you reminds me why I like it so much!! Quality pieces really make a big difference too when you're wearing a lot of one color.

  25. Love the color of your blazer, lately I've been loving bright corals! I think that I would do a color similar to your concept of a bright blazer. I Would probably pick cobalt blue because it looks great with black and it's also a really popular color right now.
