I skipped a post this weekend so today I'm bringing you two outfits. ;-) Both contain the ivory skinnies I scored on Black Friday. White jeans have been my favorite staple for many summers, so I'm not sure why I waited so long to buy an ivory pair for winter! They look great with boots, aren't breaking the "no white" rule, and yet they add a certain lightness to the usual somber winter colors. Which outfit is more your style? Would you wear ivory jeans in the winter?

I love ivory or white jeans year round. I think the no white jeans after Labor Day rule is silly. You just need to add wintery pieces to make them work for fall/winter. I really like your first look. We did a winter white jeans remix earlier this week! Heather
ReplyDeleteA coworker and I were talking about ivory pants the other day. I'm not sure if my hips can handle such a light color :P But, I really like the way they look.
ReplyDeleteI like both looks but I am more apt to wear the second look mostly because I am short and feel that boots to the knees throw my proportions off.
ReplyDeleteLove both outfits-especially the 1st one. I wish that scarf wasn't sold out!
ReplyDeleteJennWith Luck
I don't think I would simply because I'm messy and would, of course, get something on them that would ruin them! Love those Dolce Vita boots.
ReplyDeleteLoving the bright pop of yellow! Both looks are great! I wear my white skinnies all the time, even in Winter!

Outfit 1 is more my style but I would love to try something like outfit 2! I love the brightness of them both...definitely gotta get me some of those ivory pants!!!

The safe side of me would go for outfit number one in the winter, but the second outfit is so cute & I love the bright colors!

Hope this means you're out of your 'style rut'! I need ivory jeans now. Love both looks- especially the yellow on yellow. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThat first outfit is pretty much my go-to uniform fall, winter and spring. Ivory pants are definitely the perfect segway into the winter season and I'm in love with that scarf!!

ReplyDeletecan't wait to try them out - love the 1st outfit :)

LOVE the first look! Now I want some of those pants too. :) Looking great as always!
ReplyDeleteHey, I pinned that first outfit on Pinterest too! I love the color combination and I really like your interpretation, especially the pop of robin's egg blue in the scarf.
ReplyDeleteLove the ivory color! I'm a bit curvier on bottom so I tend to shy away from lighter pants, but I just bought a sweater in ivory that I adore! Although the Texas winter isn't giving me any opportunity to wear it...
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on scarves.. yet. And I love that your necklace is the exact same color as your sweater. I've shied away from ivory/white pants because I don't feel totally confident in them the way I would in dark rinse skinnies. It's also hard to come by them in long, so I'd like to think that's my excuse.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can vouch for those Chinese Laundry boots. I have them in black suede from a few years ago and a slightly different style in taupe. In general, the boots are great.. I'm now eyeing them in black leather but I need a new pair of boots like a hole in my head.
J, I ordered that alpaca sweater coat from Express and received it yesterday. I know the general advice with Express is to size down, but I'd actually recommend sizing up. As a few of the reviews mentioned, the sleeves are really tight. Not all of the sleeves, just where it tapers around the arm. I usually wear a small/medium at Express and I think I'm going to exchange my medium sweater for a large. Other than that, it lives up to expectations. It's surprisingly soft too.
I would definitely wear the ivory pants in the winter. In fact, I wore white jeans yesterday. I think the no white after labor day is extremely silly, especially in south florida, where it's warm all year round :)
ReplyDeleteI adore your ivory skinny pants. I need to get a pair. I finally bought a pair of white trousers last year but I need a pair of skinny ones. Love your looks.

I love your first outfit! If I had a pair of ivory pants I would definitely wear them all winter! They have been on my list of "wants" for quite a while now...

I really like your first outfit. It is the perfect outfit for wearing ivory jeans during the winter. That scarf is amazing too.

I've been living in boots like those, as well. Seems like they go with EVERYTHING! Love how you reuse pieces in your wardrobe for newly-inspired pieces.

Love outfit #1, I have that one pinned, too. Bought boots #4, Nine West on Black Friday! :0)
ReplyDeleteI'm completely okay with even white jeans in winter!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE your first outfit! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of ivory skinny jeans from Old Navy in September and I love them. I've been surprised at the different tops they look good with. Love your ideas, too.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I never thought about ivory jeans but I really like them! I'll have to keep an eye out although I'm not sure they would look good. I tried a mint pair on and it was not pretty...the darker colors are way better "camouflage". Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe printed scarf is definitely one of my favorite casual outfits of yours, and I really like the bubble necklace from outfit #2

I love the first outfit on you (the color palette is beautiful) but the second is more my style :)

i love this post J! I also bought some white skinnies recently to replace some old ones, and I am dying to wear them. It's been a bit stormy over here so I am nervous about breaking them out. I love how polished they look with a pair of brown riding boots. :)
ReplyDeletelove the white pants and all the boots!
ReplyDeleteMonica from Fashion Koketi
Yes! I definitely would! I just recently bought a pair and it seems like the options of what to pair them with are endless. Your first outfit is fantastic!
ReplyDeletehttp://fashionedible.blogspot.com
I am trying to track down a pair...and while at it, I read the reviews and someone said they stretched QUITE a bit throughout the day. Did you have that experience with yours? I hate pants that stretch and are two sizes too big by the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI have a hot pink pair from Limited this summer that stretch out quite a bit. I've worn these ivory ones all day though and they seemed to keep their shape really well!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the statement necklace over the same colored top. Gorgeous!! You just gave me lots of inspiration!! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!

Seeing your two outfits here~~(i.e., with your ivory jeans styled for Winter)~~is, no kidding, almost like finding............ Red "Roses In The Snow"!! 'Really gorgeous, *head-turning* style!!
ReplyDeleteYears ago, one of my work friends gave me her (size 10) pair of tailored, Woolrich ivory-corduroy pants, which became too small for her, but which fit me better, although they were maybe just a little tight on me, at that time. So, I put them in my closet; and I'm not sure why, but I forgot all about them............ until right now. I just tried them on; and............ (amazingly, after I've lost weight!!)............ the cords now fit *perfectly*!! I have a (relaxed workplace attire) Christmas Lunch/Party to attend in a week; so I think I'll wear my ivory cords; a *blueberry* blue silk tunic top~~(maybe with a gray or royal blue belt?)~~a shiny silver neck ring and pendant; and matte-silver heels. Before, I probably would've~~(as usual!!)~~simply wanted to wear Something-Boring-Just-To-Blend-In; but when even my husband now more-often says, "You look nice!!", well............ thank you so much for all of your hard work and *wonderful* Fashion Inspiration, J.!!
Hi J......have seen all your outfits which was amazing and i love all those skirts and especially in pants...Even the boots and shoes also very nice and good combo.......
ReplyDeleteI've always worn ivory pants in the winter, but there isn't a "no white after Labor Day" rule anymore, especially not here in FL. Read any fashion magazine, and you'll see repeatedly ideas for styling white with darker and bulkier tops and footwear during the winter.
ReplyDeleteLove both looks, maybe first one is more my style only b/c I am more knee high boots kinda gal ;) I have and wear booties also, but preffer taller boots. Love the colors in the first one, the scarf complements that outfit perfectly :) Maybe the second one is a bit to spring-ish (in my book) b/c both pants and top are bright - (almost)white jeans and neon sweater... though boots and purse tone it down... BUT - it's probably perfectly appropriate for Fl winter anyway :) I would wear ivory pants(cords especially), I love it with camel, cognac tones... (sweater, jacket, boots...)
ReplyDeleteI love your cognac boots, such a great color and it goes really well with the ivory pant.
ReplyDeleteI also really like the yellow necklace on the yellow sweater.
Looking good J!
I'm all about that top outfit, especially the scarf! Cute. White/ivory jeans scare me off a bit... Maybe I should give them a try.
ReplyDeleteJ, I LOVE both of these outfits!! Quite possibly in my top ten from your posts since I've been following your blog (over a year now). Great job and I love the ivory jeans!!
ReplyDeleteLove them both. My favorite is probably the top one because I love grey with ivory.
ReplyDeleteI love my ivory skinnies too! :)
