Today's Everyday Fashion: Holiday Blues

Inspiration: Piperlime

This photo was in my inbox last week and it instantly caught my eye. I love the idea of mixing navy and cobalt blue with black and sequins for a festive holiday look. Tomorrow I'm posting a bold red and green Christmas look, and after that a couple of cozy sweaters for lounging. What kind of holiday attire is your favorite -  sequins, red + green, cozy sweaters or something else?

Navy coat: Via c/o MJR Sales, $55 (similar, similar)
Shirt: Rock & Republic c/o Kohl's, $8
Jeans: American Eagle, $35 (similar, similar, similar)
Sequin clutch: Limited, $15
Black shoes: c/o Chinese Laundry, $99
Necklace: Banana Republic, old (similar)
Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Rings: My Stella & Dot website $69 and $39 and $49
Bracelets: My Stella & Dot website $59 and $59 and $79 and $32 and $39

Speaking of blue and sequins, I tried on this Tracy Reese top at Target yesterday - it's currently 50% off!

  7. I may be the lone commenter that prefers jeans and cozy sweaters, haha.  Btw, I grabbed the mustard skinny jeans from the Limited recently. Do yours stretch out like crazy?? I found myself wishing that I had gotten the smaller size even though they were pretty tight when I first tried them on. Good thing I wore a belt that day!

  8. I'm loving sequins this holiday, but I will be wearing a cute holiday sweater and I bought an emerald green cardigan for the holidays. Thinking about it, I've worn sequins, red, green and holiday sweaters. I love it all!!!

  9. I never thought of that combination before! I LOVE it! Holiday attire for me would be whatever is comfortable, though it is nice to dress up for one evening :) But give me sweaters any day!

  13. LOVE the Tracy Reese top on you, J.! The fit was terrible for my body shape, which was a bummer because I think it's stunning.

  14. I'm obsessed with cobalt blue right now, and it was the first color that popped into my mind for the holidays. I found a cute little sheath dress in that color on sale for $15 dollars at Old Navy, I'm so excited to wear it with lots of black sparkly jewelery! :)

  23. I can't believe you got that from Kohls. Is that top a tank or does it have sleeves?

  24. It's a tank! I agree though - looks way more expensive than it was. A diamond in the rough.

  25. Definitely a fan of cozy sweaters for the holiday week but I'd vouch for the sequins on the day of Christmas when there is company around.

  26. I actually tried that Rock & Republic top on today! It looks sooo much better on your than it did on me. The panels made my midsection look wayy wide. Way to rock it!

  27. I found that sequin top at Macy's, by Material Girl. It's the exact twin! So naturally, I got it :)
