Today's Everyday Fashion: Polka Dots

Oh J.Crew, your quirky combinations never cease to delight. I love the idea to wear a camel polka dot sweater with pink jeans. I'm also obsessed with her shoes and wish I was wearing them! (Love the similar pair here, kitten heels here, or flats here.) I added a jacket for all you cold-weather folks, and went with black leather because I like the idea of "toughening up" retro polka dots. (I've also had lots of requests for a picture of this jacket so hopefully this helps!) Are you loving polka dots this fall?

  2. I am loving this whole look!  I am still kicking myself for not buying that sweater at Old Navy.  Thanks for sharing some other polka dot looks from other stores.  May need to head over and get one.  Heather

  6. Love, Love, love that fit!!!! I saw that Sweater at Old Navy, and I thought it was too pre-schooly, but, as usual, you have proved me wrong! Love it! :-) Where can find some really cute black suede shoes??

  10. Honestly, I was unsure about the outfit at first, but I think the leather jacket really brings it all together. It adds just enough edgy-ness. Like other posters, I also overlooked this sweater at Old Navy, but now I might go back and see if they still have it. The Forever 21 sweater looks super cute and comfy, too.

  18. I just bought that leather jacket! It is on a great sale and there are coupon codes for free shipping (FALLSHIP) and varying amounts off (FALL12). I really hope I love it! I think it will be emotionally difficult to return it:)

  22. Old Navy doesn't have that sweater online anymore and the last time I saw a great polkadot sweater it was from Piperlime and it's gone. Anyone know where I can get a polka dot crewneck sweater? #3 on J's list is sort of a backwards cardigan which I'm not feelin. Jcrew has one that's perfect but it's cashmere and $180 on sale.. not in my budget ever.

  23. Ok this outfit is perfection! Girly with and edge so cute! I love all the stuff that you put together!!

  26.  I totally agree! I have some awesome pink and purple colored jeans but now that it's cold out i don't want to throw them in the back of my closet. :( Love this look and I agree J, the inspiration photo shoes are amazeballs. :)

  31. I am with you, Emily. I wanted this specific sweater and missed it. None of the "comparison" ones seem to match the color and cut perfection of this one. Sadly, on ebay, this sweater is going for $70+! C'mon, retailers, there is a demand here!

  32. so in love with this polka dot sweater. esp like how you paired it with a bright summer color! :]

  43. Love, love, love the dots! I have a pair of peach jeans from Target that would look good with a brown sweater. I loved the polka dot sweater from Madewell last year, but I did not buy it. I will need to check out Old Navy because it looks similar to yours.

  46. Gap has a short sleeved crew neck which I'm contemplating getting but I want a crew neck sweater. I don't like the contrast of the dots circular shape with the pointyness of a vneck. I feel like crew neck better complements the dots

  47. Love J Crew and polka dots.  So glad ON had some very similar pieces this season to satisfy my J Crew wants.

  49. Thanks Katie! The quality seems great for Old Navy. I haven't washed it yet though, and that seems to be when cheap clothes go south, so my fingers are crossed.
