Today's Everyday Fashion: Fall Colors

I recently spotted this Banana Republic look on their website and it was all kinds of yummy fall colors in my opinion. I decided to combine gray, camel and maroon items already in my closet to come up with a fall work look (and added some leopard print for fun). These are fall colors I simply can't get enough of! What are your favorite colors for fall this year?

My sleeping naked photo was revealed on Twitter last night! Please go here to vote for my picture and help win $10k for my charity To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA). You can vote as many times as you would like between now and 11/9. The campaign is for Swisspers, a line of U.S. Cotton products, and the idea behind sleeping naked is to encourage women to develop healthy beauty habits and sleep without makeup (more info here). My picture was taken minutes after waking up, with zero makeup and crazy hair! :-) My charity TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. It's a cause near and dear to my heart; I chose them because a friend attends TWLOHA meetings in her hometown, and a beloved family member committed suicide when I was in college. Thank you for helping me win this donation for their movement! Please vote here.

  8. J - I love your style.  I often find myself looking in my closet thinking, how would J pair up this shirt. As a matter of fact, just yesterday I had a navy pleated skirt and couldnt think of what would pair well with it.  I pulled up your outfit page and found a great combo!

  9. Love this color combination!!  The leopard is perfect with it.

  10. The colors work in the first pic, but what really makes them work in the inspiration photo are the textures; all fall things like leather and wool flannel.  I'm not sold on this in the lighter weight fabrics (or camel replacing brownish/maroon).

  18. Winter and cold weather are getting closer so I have a question.  Besides heels and boots what are other good cold weather shoes to wear?

  26. I think two things help - the thickness of the material of the skirt, and the fit of the skirt. If there is plenty of room in there to tuck in a shirt, you shouldn't be able to see it through the skirt!

  27. Rainboots with thick socks inside can be great for slushy cold weather, and I love boat shoes as an alternative to sneakers! I usually wear mine without socks, but you could wear socks with flared jeans so you can't see the socks.

  31. I love this outfit!!! And your blog!!
Because of my work (court reporter), I don't wear skirts/dresses to the workplace, but I'd like to find some slacks that are the color of that skirt!! When I search for "camel," they're all a light tan. What color would you say that skirt is?
Any help with some search terms would be great!!
Thanks so much! I'm enjoying your blog every day! <3

  32. Sheri, I would definitely call this color camel! You could try searching for regular 'ole brown though, and then go from there. Not sure what site you are using, but ShopStyle is by far my favorite search engine to find clothes! I would give it a try! Good luck!
