Today's Everyday Fashion: The Camp Shirt

I bought this cotton camp shirt in the day-after-Christmas sales two years ago and it has been a great addition to my closet ever since. It goes with just about anything (ex: distressed denim and sandals for a casual look) and camp shirts are definitely one of my biggest staples. A couple years ago I only wore them to work, but now I wear them constantly with shorts and skinny jeans on weekends, too. Do you ever wear button downs casually?

Gorgeous outfit. I love the pops of teal, and they go surprisingly well with the fall palette!

  5. I think a camp shirt makes everything look polished and put together without trying too hard. I also love that you can dress it up or down and either way you look very chic! I have recently added a couple more camp shirts to my closet and am now on the hunt for some good oxford shirts! You look amazing as always!

  7. Someday.  I have always had the issue with button pulling over the bust so I usually stay away from button downs (I don't want to alter every blouse I buy) I would have to get two sizes too big and then alter it back down.  Maybe if I found something I really loved...My bust is one of my big fashion issues. Maybe come spring!

  9. Does jcrew sell that shirt in your inspiration photo?  Also, can you show us outfits with leggings?  I just bought a few and have no inspiration with how to wear them.

  10. Allyson, yep that shirt is J.Crew. I think I saved this photo a long time ago, can't remember for sure!! I've done two outfits with legging so far - they are both under Table of Contents -> Europe Posts because I wore them on the plane ride! :-)

  11. I love to wear button downs for a casual look. I think it helps make a weekend look too sloppy. I also lve them for layering during fall/winter under sweater, cardigans and blazers. It can be a little tough to find the right fit (I'm a busty girl), but love a great button up

  20. Love your look and the colour pairing.  I totally subscribe to the idea of mixing silky button down blouses with jeans like here: http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/09/summer-attire-labour-day-white.html and here:
http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/09/fall-suiting-blush-and-olive.htmlIt is by far the most worn look for me outside of work.  I love how it adds an air of sophistication and feminine flare to a casual outfit.  coverupchic.blogspot.ca

Love wearing THE CAMP SHIRT casually. I think it's such a glam sophisticated look. I like how you tucked it in- I never think to do that.
