Today's Everyday Fashion: Safari

It started with a simple idea - pair olive linen shorts I've had for ages with a newish black silk camp shirt. My first instinct was to add neutral heels and a clutch, making this look perfect for a night out (pictured). But yesterday I needed a chic daytime ensemble, so I adapted the look by wearing a low brown wedge (similar to these) and a brown crossbody bag. Combining a mix of black, olive and brown to create a safari feel is one of my favorite outfit ideas. How would you accessorize this look?

  13. Gorgeous look! I love the shirt. I think you've worn it once before, paired with the exact same shoes and it was one of my fave looks ever! It's so chic and sexy. Great combination with the olive shorts, though. I love it. :-)

  14. LOVE this look!!   I have a question about your MK runway watch...I just got one for my b-day on Friday. It's so big, which I love, but it's taking me a bit to get used to, and I was debating on going down to a smaller face.  I think mine is the 44 or 45mm, but the next size down I think is 38mm.  Do you have any advice or thoughts on this?

  18. As far as accessorizing goes, it definitely calls for GOLD. Torquoise or green torquoise and gold would also be awesome.

  26. I love it! I would definitely accessorize it with fun pops of gold OR neon yellow. Either could be fun...the neon more trendy and the gold more classic!

  35. I LOVE this look. I've seen a lot of your looks but this one I loved so much I had to post. I like the way you accessorized. I would have also added dome pop of color with the jewelry. Perhaps something bright like a coral, pink, or neon, really anything goes. I think it depends on the personality. Your legs are totally making this. Work it!

  36. LOVE this outfit! The color palette is gorgeous and I like the feminine touch with the heels! <3

  37. How would I accessorize this look?    I just *love* your outfit here for a night out, J.!!    For a daytime look, I might wear your (8/9/12 post) Nine West Wedge Sandals, with their brass METALLIC studs and heel-back zipper............
http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/08/todays-everyday-fashion-birthday-bag.html  ............which might look good with your (12/21/10 post) "safari//tribal feel" turquoise Aldo necklace, with it's gold, stylized METALLIC "leaves"............  http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/12/todays-everyday-fashion-lucky-magazine.html !!

Interestingly, your basic 12/21/10 outfit has just the reverse colors of your outfit, (Above)............ i.e., it has an olive sweater and black jeans.    Your turquoise and gold Aldo necklace is really  *g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.*  with it, too!!

  38. I LOVE YOUR SHOES!! I have been scourin the web for them!  Are they a recent purchase?  Do you happen to know a style name?

  39. Shannon, I got these shoes last winter. Colin Stuart is sold exclusively at Victoria's Secret (and MJR Sales) so if they don't have them, unfortunately no one will. :-( They are a copycat of a Nicolas Kirkwood shoe from a couple years ago.
