Flashback Friday: Navy Striped Shirts

I can't get enough of stripes lately, so I decided to take a look back at some of the ways I've worn these two striped shirts thus far! Top shirt is from H&M, $18 and bottom shirt is c/o MJR Sales, $10. Both are navy and white, as are the shopping options below. Are you a fan of wearing stripes? Which outfit is your favorite?

Tip: if you feel like horizontal stripes make you look wider, try this trick. Layer on a dark colored cardigan and button one or two buttons, creating an hour-glass shape over your top half. This will "cut out" the sides visually, and can actually make you appear thinner.

1. Gap shirt, $22.95
2. Lauren Jeans Co. shirt, $29.99
3. Dillard's shirt, $19.35
4. Gap shirt, $22.95
5. Lauren Ralph Lauren shirt, $29.99
6. Zappos shirt, $35.99

  2. I love stripes, they are kind of a trade mark style for me! Favourite outfit is the one with the yellow skirt, I like the spotty skirt look too, but I never wear spots!  I really need those nutmeg Old Navy shorts you have !!! Wish we had Old Navy in the UK. nice to see a photo of you in London by the way...it's where I live!

  14. I've never been a fan of wearing stripes because, as you mentioned, I thought they would make me look wider. But I love the looks of these outfits so much that I might need to find myself a striped top and try the cardigan trick you suggested.

  15. I love stripes!!! One of my first blogs was about stripes. Yesterday I managed to put both my son and I in striped tops. That was actually quite the coincidence. Love, love, love stripes.

I'm wearing mine today with a long black vest, jeans, black boots. When I head outside I'll be adding a black/beige/gold paisley scarf  & olive military jacket. Thanks so much for your continued inspiration!
